I'll mention one odd thing about my recovery. My surgery was in September of 2014. Not unexpectedly, I was incontinent for awhile. I was wearing adult diapers...which I joked about (no reason for embarrassment). Much to my dismay, the incontinence dragged on for months. I had hoped it would end in a week or two. But even FOUR MONTHS later I had little to no bladder control. I figured I was probably incontinent for life. Then, one day in January, I was SUDDENLY able to hold a substantial amount of urine in my bladder and expel it normally. By the next day, I had almost full bladder control and I no longer needed the diapers. How strange. I did not regain function gradually.. After months of no bladder control, I suddenly regained control in about 36 hours. Just shows that all recoveries are different and never give up hope.

Thanks dex for comment. I've been very lucky to be honest. I've had no problems all bar a few little infections. No leakage issues. When I need to go I NEED TO GO is my only problem. Cheers for the comment mate

Thank you Neil. Excellent advice! I live in the U.S. I am 66 and had my prostatectomy 10 weeks ago. Every one of your tips is spot on. Staying positive would be my #1 as well. Having a positive attitude carried me through the hardest part, which was the first four weeks.

Thanks for video I’m 63 years old had psa test was a 10 just had mri scan waiting for results In the high risk category as my dad died of prostate cancer 10 years ago I’ll be honest it is worrying Just hope caught it in time

Richard let's hope everything will be OK mate. Ask what pirads score you are. 1 is the best 5 is the worst. Not that it makes much difference I was told I was a 2 which means low risk. I had 5 from 16 biopsies that were positive. It's the biopsies rather than the MRI that will determine. Let's hope all be OK mate

Hi Neil, I watched a few of your videos tonight, very informative thankyou. I will be 72 in a couple of months and had my prostatectomy 4 weeks ago today (2nd Feb 24) All seems to be going well ie no pain and minimal leakage . I can only put that down to being obsessed with fitness ie weight training and walking, cant wait to get back to it. Thanks again , take care , ken Leeds

I have what it looks to be a Gleason score of 3+7 and today I go in to see the Dr and go over my options..I'm leaning towards doing the removal because of the possibility of the long-term affects of radiation treatments..wearing a catheter was one of my main worries..my Pastor had the surgery around a year ago and he had no trouble with his, but he said they taped it on so you can't pull it out for a week..and he only had to drain the bag..I'm glad you mentioned about drinking plenty of water because I will definitely keep that in mind..also, I'm a brickmason so I'm used to being pretty active, so it sounds like i will have to be off for a while..thanks for the tips

Thx for commenting Michael, I'm the same mate. Believe me it's my number 1 tip. Having the catheter reinserted wasn't pleasant. Please try to drink drink and drink. It's for a week and it will flush through all the particles from the bladder etc. It's a major operation and there's a lot of rubbish still within that's needs to come out. I wish I would've listened to others and keep drinking. All the best mate with ya surgery. Stay strong bud

ED is still an issue but not a big problem. Cheers buddy for watching and appreciate your comment. Keep well and keep watching mate

My incontinence only lasted a month, catheter was for 2 weeks, then a couple of infections which soon cleared up, so was back to normal after 4 to 5 weeks bit I Think my age was on my side. The little man downstairs is still asleep. I tried viagara silnadefil etc but nothing works yet. Time is a healer. I'm not pushing it. Hope everything goes OK ina couple of days time mate. Please keep in touch. Remember drink drink drink, I hate water but please believe me it will work.

My father passed away from prostate cancer at the age of 58 back in 2007 after 5 years of dealing with this disease..he was strong all the way through it right up to the point that the rotten doctors gave him medication to lower his testosterone thinking that testosterone stimulated cancer growth (wrong, not true)...anyways my dad died 3 months later weak ,shriveled up and the cancer grew like wild fire when it didnt before the meds...so my advise to you if you are on ANY medication to lower testosterone...stop immediately...just my advise through experience
@neildavidson7768 Жыл бұрын
Many thanks for watching and commenting windward. Sorry for your loss with your father. I'm not on any medication what so ever. No leakage and no incontinence. Please consider watching my other videos on my channel. Can I ask you where abouts you are from. Thx

The way they treat prostate cancer for men is pure evil. You dont see young men with high Testosterone with prostate cancer. They should offer natural cures to cure it!!
