Since it’s quarantine, am bored af. So I decided to write a PEE Paragraph on my top 10. If you don’t like it, idc. Feel free to critique in replies. 1 - Harlem The Kings of Drill, they have a whole starting 11 and bench. It’s like anyone that steps from Kennington knows how to slang bars. Don’t get me started on Miz, Blanco, Loski, OnDrills and Bis (RIP), and the effect they had on the genre. Got to the point where groups catted them and Drake co-signed them. There hasn’t been anyone like them since they have been birded and hopefully 2020 they make their much awaited return as the best. 2 - 410 The Diligent Drillers, Only group that I want to hear get compared to Harlem tbh. Back in the 016 days, where yutes would be on the back of the bus shouting about who is better. 410 or Harlem? 410 gave Harlem a run for their money in terms of classics they put out. And even today they’re still putting out cold tunes that most drill groups can’t match. AM punchlines and deep cadence with Skengdo’s aggressive bars leaves you wanting to bang up someone. Not to mention Rendo, BT and Sykes. These man are meant to be up there. 3 - Zone 2 The Rudest In Drill. When I listen to their music, it feels like smoking a cigarette. The shit they say about their opps is sad, but the beat, punchlines and flow makes you keep listening on. Nowadays, they’re following the money and driving towards the trap and afro swing. But, when they step on drill, you best have a bible nearby cah they’re going to take you back the the old rude drill, that we all know and miss. Never has a drill group made me feel sorry for their opps as much as Zone 2. And with drillers like PS, Kweng, Trizzac and Karma they sure know how to make drill emotive with flow. 4 - 67 The Pioneers of Drill, 014/15 days they would of been number 1 but with some of their man locked off (3 LD, 3 R6, 3 ST), the lack of consistency, and the fact that most drill groups are doing it better than them right now then 4th is a generous position. However, this group opened most peoples eyes to drill and originally got everyone hooked in the genre. This group got people booming their tunes in cars round South London and done numerous live concerts and even a documentary about drill based on them. If this doesn’t tell you the influence they have a today’s drill culture, then Idk what will. Ngl, without them, drill would of faded fast. 5 - OFB The Gully Side of Drill, besides their annual block parties where your shit get robbed and your girl ain’t your girl no more, she’s their girl. This group is hard. 019 was there and boy did they grab 019 by the hair and made it their’s real good. Headie and RV stamped their authority on drill just when the genre was starting to get boring, through that birthed Y.OFB consisting of Bando, Lzz, and SJ. SJ being the standout in the group with his flow and greazy bars. Furthermore, the way these man slide of each others bars reminded us of the Migos. If only SJ didn’t commit his life on road then this group would be in on their way to bigger things but right now Bando and Lzz are shelling it, just not as hard as they used to with SJ in the wing. 6 - B Side The Potential of Drill, this group should of been the OFB of today and would of probably be challenging the top 3 but the lack of consistency and certain man being locked off (3 Django, 3 KK) ruined it. However, don’t let that knock off the fact that these man have huge quality on and off drill. These man like Zone 2 ain’t afraid to step on opp block to invite the cameras round to film a video. Along with the shit they rap about feels as if they mean what they’re on and talking from experience, whereas, most other drill rappers/group talk about the shit they done just to show on the recommended videos of them caught lacking and getting chased (-Cough- Russ -Cough-). 30 is still holding it down for B Side but most people desire more from them but it just isn’t showing. Yet. 7 - CGM Caged Birds of Drill, CGM is a mixed subject to me. They’re good, that’s a given fact but only for a select few, the rest are decent. For example Digga D, ZK and Sav’O (Too an extent) can hop on a tune and make you bop. But the thing that pisses me off about this group is that they just can’t stay away from the bars. Digga D, the most decorated driller in CGM who has multiple +10mil videos, a distinct voice, punchline and flow, got record labels going wet for him, city wide backing to the point of ‘No Diet’ stickers being put everywhere you go in build up for a song and enough P’s to buy out the opp block and leave them homeless yet he’s still can’t divorce the streets. If certain CGM members were focused on music, God knows where these man would of reached. But until most of them are released, I guess were stuck with Huncho and ZK, and who knows whether they will return back to then pen too. 8 - 7th Risk Takers of Drill, used to not be a big fan of East London drill, two groups changed my perception of East London Drill. Homerton and the 7th. I was debating to myself whether to put Homerton in this list over 7th but I decided 7th purely based off the fact that CB is too hard to turn down. However the reason they’re not higher up in the list is because of the fact that CB is locked off meaning young ones have to fill his spot. Few of them being Y.CB and Woosh. Now, we ain’t seeing CB for a while as he has been sentenced to 23 years (3 CB), but I guess it’s up to Y.CB and Woosh to see what they can bring to the table. As CB’s presence on drill made him one of the greatest, can Y.7th fill that space CB left? 9 - 150 The Forgotten Makers of Drill, Stickz had a plan, to make music in which he birthed the genre we listen to today. Nowadays when people listen to Stickz, Grizzy and Perm. They ignore the date it was made and say: ‘wHO R tHEse nEw guYs?’ These lot made drill, whereas their opps 67 perfected it. So why are they not higher? They haven’t really adapted to then new sound of drill. Yea you got Stickz and M24 making hard tunes but tell Grizzy or Mdargg to hop on a No Censor instrumental and it will sound 2014’ish. I love 150, but the only ones that have adapted in their group is Stickz and M24. Reason why I can’t put them higher up in the list. 10 - Moscow The Fallen Angel of Drill, Moscow has been affected by two influential deaths GB (RIP) and Incognito (RIP). Moscow during 15/16 days were got young ones repeating ‘Bro, Bro, Pull out the ting, lets Moscow March and then lean’ Moscow at some point were the best Drill group in Southwark. However, those two deaths hugely affected their musical work rate. To the point where some the man in their gang denied being affiliated with Moscow and left. Now only LooseScrew holds it down for Moscow and I have so much respect for him, to watch 2 of your close friends get killed and still have a perseverance to carry on repping Moscow. Anyways free Loose. Hopefully, we see a return of Moscow.
