not a necessity, but putting a travel size salt/pepper shaker in my lunchbox is a total game changer. it can be reused indefinitely and stops me from getting those little salt/pepper packets when i get food at work. i also enjoy keeping cutlery (not a fancy set, just some from my drawer at home) in my lunch box so i don’t ever need to grab plastic cutlery

Stephanie C. That’s smart and not something most people think about! Sometimes you gotta have some salt and pepper! So that’s perfect. Yes, using your own utensils is great!!

From the makeup front, on top of saying if one doesn't wear makeup they don't need to invest in zero waste options at all, it's also an opportune time to say if you do wear makeup, to keep using what you already own. Its sooo easy to want to chuck everything and start over, especially if the person is also on a mission to go cruelty free and/or clean. Using what you have THEN later investing in zero waste options if the need still exists is a reminder I think many of us still need in that department.

Giannina Alarcon Yes, 100%! I always forget to say that because of where I’m at on my journey. But I know I need to say it for those just starting! Thanks for the reminder!! 😊🌏

I appreciate this comment! It’s so easy to want to “start fresh”. But, in reality it’s better to finish then switch.

I know some people are like just take your own silverware - don’t buy new bamboo silverware.....great idea! However, I work in a place that will not allow us to bring in metal silverware for safety reasons. Love using the same silverware and using plastics that get thrown away....

JCG NBD Yes, everyone’s situation is so different! I love my bamboo utensil set! And reusing plastic utensils is also a great option 😊👍

Totally agree with the straws. I can drink without one, so I do. The only time I use my bamboo straws is with my smoothies at home.

Yeah, it all varies person to person. It just depends on what we need and use for our own lifestyle. 😊

good, Zero waste lifestyle is becoming contagious. And i like that. bio enzymes are also most sustainable cleaners we can make in house just using citrus peels and are really multi purpose and effective. And it is said that if every one uses bio enzyme cleaners in their houses the lakes and rivers will automatically get cleaned. hope you will make a video on bio enzymes, i think people will love it.

Stasher bags for freezing fresh fruits for smoothies is an absolute hack!!! I have a few in my freezer right now. I am a minimalist & extremist so I am collecting every color that stasher bags come in. Lol. :) Also, excellent video! Thanks for sharing this content.

Not to be snarky, but I would suggest the best way to reduce your waste is just stop buying stuff.
@StrollingThroughLife4 жыл бұрын
I would agree. I’m just trying to share some small businesses that could use our support because of what’s going on right now. 😊 And I was saying you don’t need the things I have. I use these things so I wanted to share. 😊🌏

Yeah just stop buying food. The best way to save the environment is to die! Stop consuming everything! Return to the earth 😊

I’m so confused. The title of this video does not match it? Shouldn’t this be titled “Zero waste products you DO need” ???

I think she was going for the idea that you don’t need any of these to be zero waste... but you’re right, I was also confused.

I disagree with the straws. Some people really do need to use straws. I disagree with the Reusable shopping bag, I think that is definitely an essential item.

The point of the video is to show you things you don’t really need to buy to be zero waste but it includes things that she likes. For example, she doesn’t NEED a zero waste planner, but she enjoys it. You do need food for example but not necessarily travel utensils
