Hey thx for watching!, Latency is usually caused by the phones audio chip. depending on which phone you have (Samsung, LG, HTC, etc) the latency may be more. Ive found that a Samsung Galaxy or newer, or a BlackBerry (yes a blackberry) androind phone is pretty good, but LG and Huawei devices are really bad for latency.

LITTERALLY the only clue i had was by watching this video and hearing at 4:45 you playing and the sound arriving a little bit later. this makes me understand that this device is NOT for live use. Correct me if i'm wrong please. no one is clear about it
@DarkRoastRecording9 ай бұрын
On an Android device, live use would be very tricky. Its a fact that Android devices have bigger latency and there's only so much you can do about it. Honestly for live use, you would be much better off using an iPhone, anything from an iPhone X and newer would be light years better for latency than any Android phone. I know, the truth hurts, but it is the truth of the matter.

Does IRig 2 have a latency issue on Android while using headphones for monitoring?
@DarkRoastRecording3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The latency comes from the processed signal, so if you set the irig to “thru” , you will be hearing no latency, but it is very hard to record anything that way with a metronome because you will be ahead of the beat. Android has latency more than iOS devices, but side android phones have way better latency than others, and so it’s not too big a deal depending on your device. Plus, it you use A USB interface with Deplike, it can get rid of any latency.
@SilvioAmbrosini3 жыл бұрын
@@DarkRoastRecording when you say "use a USB interface", you mean instead of pluging into the audio jack?

I tried using iRig2 with my Android phone and as soon as I plug my guitar in I get nothing but a screaching feedback that goes on until I close the app. I am using headphones to monitor so it shouldn't be feedback from them. Also, as another comment stated my phone and many other Android devices have too much latency to be useful as any kind of serious practice or recording device while using the Deplike app. Also, Only the basic configuration of noise gate, basic amp, delay pedal (which exasperates the screechy feedback unless the mix on the pedal is turned all the way down and renders the pedal useless) Orange sim can and looper are free.
