Usually when a show is especially "writerly", aka all the characters have a particular cadence and rhythm to how they speak that is really unrealistic, I get annoyed. GG was critiqued for this from the beginning, and I feel like other shows like West Wing and This Is Us get made fun of for this too. But the more I watched GG the more I loved how ridiculously all the characters spoke!! It's just so obviously made up, but that's part of what makes it the most f*cking charming show out there!!!

Yes I agree! I think because it doesn’t take itself so seriously it can get away with it in a way other shows can’t, maybe?
