Thank for the timing of this. We're looking to get some more fish soon. We've had guppies, mollies, platies and swordtails living together along with neon tetras with no problems. We've even had some babies born and survive almost a year so far. We have a large tank so I like having small fish in it so they have plenty of room.

Glad that you enjoyed it Studio42. Sound like you have quite a fun tank with all of those livebearers in there.

smaller, less aggressive Central/South American Cichlids like Firemouths, Rainbow Cichlids, Sajica, Blue Acaras, and Honduran Red Points are great with the larger livebearers. The Blue acara is the most likely of the bunch to eat Molly fry, but they won't show aggression to the adults or juveniles that are too big to eat.

Thanks David! I don't keep a lot of Central/South American Cichlids but I can see that working

Great vid! I find that Mollys aren't all the same. I have some wild Liberty Mollys (Poecillia salvitoris) that are absolute punks with any other type of fish. I also have Sunset Mollys that coexist very nicely with my Priapella compressa. There are a bunch of wild Mollys that haven't really made it into the hobby. I bet many of them are not all that nice. Cheers, Chris

Thanks Chris! Very true on the wild mollies. I have found the same in terms of aggression with the wild type platys.

@@FishTankBarn Good to know. I have a small group of fluorescent gold Platys that seem very docile. I've looked into purchasing wild types but there is always that space/time problem. Cheers, Chris

I have a single Molly living with my whiteskirts, and a siamese algae eater. This Molly is 4-5 years old and outlived all of its Molly mates

Nice, it's always fun when your fish live to be that old.
