NB. Taking off from the grounds around the Barrage Reservoir (Sg Flyer, Gardens domes, cycling/jogging paths around the water. Barrage bridge under PUB) has been forbidden by Gardens by the Bay for a few years now, and several months ago, flying from the Green Roof is permitted, but if you want to shoot videos or photographs, a written permit is needed from PUB. Application takes about 1 month for approval. Point to note for Singaporeans and PRs - if you post on KZbin and monetise, you have to be a UAPL license holder.

I was flying near marina bay east side opposite to the flyer today and a security came to inform that it's not allowed to permit throught marina bay area. They had a satellite view drone and detected mine easily. Not sure if this is due to National day Parade restrictions, I have flewn here before

Sorry missed this. Hi bro, for myself i'm looking into it too. First step i guess is getting the licence to fly up to 7kg drones. May upgrade eventually to 25kg license, but I dont see the need for myself in the near future. Not too sure if there is a career in it, but definitely freelance drone gigs are available. Not really scouting for opportunities myself, so cant say much about what the industry can offer except freelance gigs that iv seen shared around.

Hi Rahim, I have totally given up flying drones in Singapore. :) Just cross over to Johor Malaysia for much better peace of mind. Much more beautiful natural landscapes and less or zero interruptions by security guards. Its much more fun crossing over.

@@TheReelRahim Don't put your drone in a wheel luggage. It will be scanned and detected. Put it in a haversack hand carry. I was taxed for mini 2 when I brought it in my wheel luggage. But my mini 2 is stuck on the roof of my neighbors' LOL. It went rouge and lost control. :(. Lucky got my mini 4 pro .

Hi Rahim, love your vids and your catchy channel name. I see that this video is almost a year old. Is it possible that the places you mentioned above are now in no fly zones per One Map whereas they were not before? Marina Barrage, Marina Bay Promontory, and SG Flyer all appear to be off limits, i.e. "within 10 km of aerodromes, Paya Lebar". After taking a good look at the current OneMap, it looks like there are some areas over by the Merlion that are ok to fly from though...

@@TheReelRahim well the Avata is now required to use Remote ID which means it must be connected to your cell phone…however if once you have taken off and in flight you were say to loose cell reception you can still fly but just get the remote id error in your goggles

It also has a winding road that is beside a field. Its illegal to fly over roads without permits, so have the drone shoot from the field to be on the safe side. Nope not required for recreational flying. Checked with security and they also advised that I could launch off from the top floor. Just be smart about it, keep to the height limit and also dont fly above people.

Hi, there is no need to unlock these zones. In the DJI app, it seems that there is a tab for "unlock zone", but there is no need for that unless you have applied for special request to fly beyond the permitted limits. Eg. above 200ft, or if for commercial work in a restricted area. Note that right now, many of these areas could be deemed restricted as there is much aerial movement in the area due to ndp. Glad it helped buddy. Man, have not been to Pandan Resv. Prolly never will. Hahaha. Nothing there from a dynamic flying point of view. If you do go to fly in the places above, of coz the usual restrictions of height and safety to others will apply. Do note also for MBS area, specifically launch from The Promontory. Because if you launch from the MBS front itself, its in the scope of the security there and will shoo you away. Fly safe bro and see you in the skies!

Sorry took me awhile. 1) Flyer : There is a hut infront of flyer along the waters. Anywhere in that grassy area is fine. Stay off the F1 track.

However, when I go to the official drone website of Singapore, most of the spots are either no fly zones or are too close to the airport/military basis. Simple guidelines is that if you are flying recreationally, and your drone is more than 250g, then you will need: 1) Register and approve your drone with CAAS and get the label 2) Fly no higher than 200ft (60m) 3) Avoid flying over people and near buildings 4) Launch from public grounds. If you launch from private grounds, then expect security of that said grounds to shoo you away 5) check CAAS site and OneMap app if these places happen to impose a temporary NoFly Zone on your desired fly date. If thats the case, then dont fly. These are guidelines for recreational flying. If you are doing it for commercial purposes, then laws will apply differently. Check CAAS site for more info.

Sorry, no go for the east. Paya Lebar Airbase, Changi Airport and Sembawang Airbase practically restricts the whole East up to North side. So mainly central is free. U can check OneMap app under Drone Enquiry, and it will show u the details.

How long does it take CAAS to approve the registration application?

From my experience, its usually within the day. You will receive a confirmation email of successful registration, and you are good to go. But this is in the context of a local registering. If you are a foreigner, the process itself is different and may take awhile to clear. Do check CAAS website for more details.

Northern is a no go, but Bishan Park is a nice place. Fields there are quiet on weekdays, but weekends are no-go because of crowds. Nothing will stop Karens though. DJI Avata not so bad as its quieter, but DJI FPV will attract quite the attention. So just stay away from crowds.

You're most welcome. Just sharing some possible locations. Do check OneMap, and also CAAS website on any "Temporary Restrictions of Airspace" like during NDP and F1. During these periods, they will state the timing of when you can and cannot fly.
