Thanks for the video! I you were to recommend one set of 24/36 (I’ve found both brands online in the same price) - would it be Rembrandt or Schmincke? 😊

hmm great question! I don’t think I’ve tried Rembrandt because they aren’t readily available where I live. I think they’re more available in European countries so I can’t really speak to the quality.. . I feel like I would buy the Schmincke set because they are just such beautiful paints & so creamy & lovely to work with, but at the same time you might like the Rembrandt color range better so pick which one suits you & the subjects you paint best.. . also it might be helpful to buy one half pan of each in a similar color that’s not in the set {like a cobalt turquoise} one of your favorite colors to try that way you can see which brand you like working with & you will probably find you can even swap that into the set if there’s another color you don’t use very much.. . Sorry I can’t be more help! it’s always exciting buying new paints! Happy Shopping! 🤗✨🎨🌷🌸

@@eaupoetique I was also wondering gwith your Winsor and Newton's watercolors, do you buy them in tubes or in half-pans? I'm asking because I've heard if you dry their tube paints, they can be hard to rewet..have you found this to be true?

I always buy tubes because for nearly the same price I get 2 or 3 times the paint, & I go through so much on the channel for mixing before I even get to a painting! but also I enjoy the freedom to squeeze say potters pink into the pan & then fill it up with pearl white & stir them together to make my perfect shade. I’m planning a whole palette of just my fav mixes so you’ll be able to see how I do it but it’s very simple just squeeze & stir! as far as winsor & Newton the ones I have rewet are very creamy & rewet easily {potters pink & Caput Mortuum} but the cobalt violet is slightly harder to rewet but still performs really well over any other cobalt violet I’ve tried. i always say just try one or two to make sure you’re comfortable, like try a tube & a half pan & see which ones you like better. some people really love the luxury of buying pre poured half pans, you don’t have to wait for them to dry it’s less messy, so there definitely can be advantages to both! I get my Schmincke & w&n tubes with empty half pans from Jackson’s as I’ve found that to be the best price {& the half pans are a really nice quality}, & I usually get my Daniel Smith tubes from Jerry’s Artarama.. . hope that helps, I know it’s tricky trying to decide what will work for you! good Luck! 🎨✨🌷🍀

@@eaupoetique Thankyou for your helpful reply:) Yes, I'm all for the tubes as well! Much better deal, as you said, and I rather like process of doing the pans myself. That's good to know for the Winsor and Newton paints. Not sure if you've ever heard this, but their half-pan paints and tubes paints are actually two different formulations. So with that I'd heard that the tubes didn't rewet well. But I'm glad to hear your take on it, I'd like to try their Potter's Pink actually💖 Jackson's has such a great selection! I've used your links for a basket I've got going at the moment, and I was going to wait until their shipping situation has kinda gone back normal(ish) as it's a bit expensive right now shipping to Canada.. but I think I'll just order soon anyways☺️ I'd also really like to try the Roman Szmal watercolors that they have now, they look so beautiful and are very affordable, have you tried any of them yet? oh Thankyou! I’m waiting til the shipping goes a bit back to normal myself 😬 I haven’t tried the Roman Szmal paints I think there is a lot of good information out there on them! I know a lot of ppl love them! you know ther3 is another handmade paint company I haven’t tried yet but they look amazing, I think they’re called stone something I’ll try to find them, they would probably have great shipping for you! and also another Etsy Shop I got some of my sisters paints from which are really beautiful as well, it’s just harder to get them I usually miss the updates but I do recommend them, you can see them Swatched in the galaxy palette for my sister.. .

no they aren’t readily available in my area but I’ve heard wonderful things about them. my advice is always try a tube or two in your Fav colors before buying more.. . good luck! 😌✨🌸🌷🎨
