I used to take my higher end pens to work, lamy 2000, pilot metropolitan, platinum 3776 with a music nib etc. after I Lent my esterbrook j to a co worker to sign in for a shift. He/she Bent the nib " accidentally ". Haters gonna hate. Now I have several jinhao 80s and bought some lamy z- 50 nibs ( safari ) that can be easily swapped out and in different sizes. Also a couple of jinhao x750s with Goulet and kaigelu nibs. And 2 jinhao 9016s 1 in clear and the other in a brown demonstrator. The nibs are ok for now but loving the huge ink capacity converters as well as the thicker grip sections. Good luck in your new job. If a coworker asks to borrow your pen " real quick " hand them a ballpoint, your fountain pens will love you for it.

I also have a Kaweco AL Sport (in Anthracite) and I was using it in the office for some time, but now I have it in my backpack as a backup online. Together with some cartridges it is perfect for that purpose. My Lamy 2k is a KM and has a very broad line as well. I don't want to transport it in my backpack unprotected. I rather use it at home. For work I need a pen with a well sealing cap because it might not be in use for some weeks (when I'm on vacation) but has to write reliably as soon as I open the cap. I was using an old Parker 75, but it dried out after a long time of being not in use. I was also using a vintage Brause 3020, which did a great job. At the moment I'm using an old rOtring 600 with an M nib, but it's rather a little finer than . Also: You are a very beautiful person, I hope that's not offending to say that way...

So glad to discover your fountain pen videos! ... I, too, use fountain pens at work, and, yes, those with eyes to see appreciate them. ... I refill my Kawecko Sport Bronze cartridges with an ink syringe, not being willing to bother with the itty-bitty converter. ... I do have two Pilot vanishing point pens, one a 1990s Namiki (a treasure I don't risk at work much) and a current Pilot version, also receiving good care. But, dare I mention it? I carry every day a Majohn A1 vanishing point pen that works marvelously. Once I thought I lost it, and replaced it immediately. The replacement required that I floss the nib with a brass shim. No problem. Then I found the lost pen! Yay! One for black, one for blue! I may say that I do have some superb German pens: Pelikan m805 Stresemann; Diplomat Esteem; the aforementioned Kawecko; and the Faber-Castell Ambition. Doesn't it seem that the Ambition was meant to be held like one of their pencils, by the barrel not the section?
@Blue_Rosemarie2 ай бұрын
Thank you! I do not bother with filling cartridges anymore. Even if the Kaweco converters are so small, I do not want to deal with having to wash out an surringe ;) The vintage Pilot VPs are so beautiful! I am still considering to get one if I see one. I guess it comes down to the price and how it has stood the test of time. I even have the pencil from faber castell! So I have the matching pair and yes, it definetly seems like that. With the pencil there is the feeling of backweight in my hand, because the cap that holds the eraser is so heavy. Probably the same as the cap of the fountain pen.
@crouserm2 ай бұрын
@@Blue_Rosemarie I was going to argue for filling cartridges with a syringe despite the inconvenience of cleaning the syringe, when I realized that I get such pleasure from changing inks that larger ink capacity really matters less to me than I might admire it. Love your channel!

I did, however, recently get a vintage Pilot Custom with a striped, metal body and an inset nib - it's gorgeous! I also use a Franklin Christoph 02 in black for work. :) Black is an underrated color! I always enjoy seeing top 5’s (or 5+ with the honorable mention) for fountain pens. I am always curious to see what people choose. I typically don’t distinguish my pens, i.e. for home or for office use, I just pick what I like and what I want to write with regardless of what they look like. I have a few pens similar in shape and design to your Faber Castell Ambition (Muji Aluminum, Zebra V301 FP, IWI Handscript, and a vintage Hero 395) two of these have a legitimate grip section but it’s too small for me. Luckily these all post well so I just grip the barrel. I wonder if that was the intent all along, I sure it was for the Ambition. Anyway I like the format and I always enjoy seeing who is behind these videos. Good luck at your new job! Oh and the Platinum Preppy’s and the Prefounte’s are awesome pens, especially with the Carbon Black ink. Great pens for not a lot of money.

Very good list. The VP and Preppy or Pilot varsity seems to be on a lot of people's work lists. I really think that the Diplomat Excellence A2 is super underrated for a steel nib work pen. All metal so durable, good solid nib, and snap cap for easy access. i also take a secret weapon lol I'm very very fond of Pelikans... I got a Pelikan Celebry 580 in Agate Black finish with a 14k gold medium nib. The nib is smaller than even an M200 it has this stub like line. But Pelikan snap cap, metal construction, and a cartridge converter. Also I did enjoy your face haha.

Nice video. I write a lot with a Kaweco AL Sport (stonewashed denim) fitted with a Premium B nib, and find the small cartridge converter no trouble at all. Also enjoy the Kaweco Dia 2 with a BB nib, a quietly elegant pen. The Premium nib is excellent, and so is their standard steel. They're two of the six pens I do most of my writing with.
@Blue_Rosemarie2 ай бұрын
I've never tried the premium nibs before from Kaweco. But I like the look of them. So maybe I will try one in the future. The only thing that is holding me back is, that you must purchase it seperatly and then I'm ending up with two nibs for one pen. I only need one good nib per pen.

I don't mind screw caps at all for letters or the diary. It seems you are also leaning towards German pens for work. Four out of six are by German brands. How much (as in A5 pages) do you write that you empty the - admittedly tiny - converter of the AL Sport in two to three days?
