Zebras by far are the most fussy pleco to feed that i have. Great info on food. Thanks for sharing.

Great list and thank you for sharing. I also use the ebo and hikari, I haven't tried the repashy yet.

I use a mix of 50:50 Repashy Super Gold and Bottom Scratchers for my meet eating plecs

As a Discus keeper I try any Discus food I acquire on my carnivorous plecos. Best results have been with Vitalis discus pellets, my 46s go crazy for these and grow well on them. These pellets sink well, and withstand current pretty well once on the bottom. They do however turn mushy in water so I'd advise bare bottom tanks only and syphon up leftovers in the morning. My L199s and L260s also both love these pellets.

I’ll have to check them out. I’ve added Dr Bassleer foods to the rotation. What I like about that food, and Ebo, is that it holds up well for quite some time. This gives the plecos time to locate and feed before it starts to break down.

@@TMAquatics Yeah, as said, that is one issue with Vitalis, the pellets do break down although they don't swell. Work well in sheltered areas in bare bottom tanks as just form a small pile of crumbled food which the plecos still love. I still feed in tanks with sand substrate and have had no issues with water quality, but I don't feed in tanks with gravel as the small pellets will definatly fall between gaps out of reach of fish and break down. Ntlabs discus granules also work for my 46s, i like to mix these into Repashy before it sets. I will check out your recommended brands if available here in UK.

Just one more tip for plecos keepers while I'm at it! I was having issues holding food near cave entrances due to the current, so one thing I do is mix Repashy thick, at the 2-1 ratio, into small ice cube moulds. Then, before it sets, add into each cube a large sized piece of pea gravel. This will sink and hold the food in very high current areas.

Great video Tom, agree with you about making Repashy on the thicker side - might seem obvious but I never really considered adding meds or other stuff to it, thanks for the tip!

Great video! I am trying to breed L201 Pleco. They are 2 years old but not yet spawned. Would you very kindly guide me as to how stimulate them to spawn. Successfully I breed L144 and various other Corydoras species. But L201 is not responding. Please reply.

You're right, never heard of it... until now. I'll have to keep this in mind for my other carnivorous plecos-bottom feeders.

Do you cook the mussels or feed them raw.

What can I feed these guys when they are still babies? I have inherited 3 Zebra Plecos that I’m desperately trying to get to a good size but I don’t know how to support their diet at this stage. They are about half a centimetre to a centimetre long? Please help :)

oscar navarro Try live baby brine shrimp and micro worms. You can also try some hikari fry starter.

Thanks Guys. So I investigated and these L46s I have are about 3 or 4 months old. They seem way too small to eat anything live. But I can try. They do share a tank with two, also small, Betta Hendras, 6 ember Tettras and a juvenile tiger pleco. Do you think they would let them eat anything if I just drop that food in there?

Repasy is overrated . Have you tried DIY gel with unflavored gelatin? IE snello?
@TMAquatics4 жыл бұрын
Yes. Also make DiY gel with Agar powder. Works better than gelatin. Repashy is good stuff. Just a bit pricey.
