1998 literally changed my life, I love it so much, I'm glad I found someone who likes it

Horehronie is my favourite entry from Slovakia! It was even my winner in 2010!

No way! Slovakia had the best song in 1994 how dare you putting it last!? 😢 🇳🇱❤️🇸🇰

I hope, one day, they're gonna return to Eurovision. And they haven't revealed yet, whether they're gonna participate in the next contest (according to Wikipedia, a decision was said to be made this month), so there's still a chance they'll return in 2023. Same goes for Turkey, who also has yet to confirm their intent to participate.

How would you rank their 1993 NQ (criminally, Slovenia made it to Millstreet but Slovakia didn’t)?
@federicocastro61542 жыл бұрын
One of the must underrated countries. I love all of them. My personal N°1 of this list is 2009.
@EldaMengisto2 жыл бұрын
Probably the unluckiest country at eurovision, though at the same time, Slovakia lacks both in quality and quantity. Horehronie has earned its spot as a robbed fan-favorite, and I like it too, but I have to agree in Modlitba being their best entry! In fact, Amnestia na neveru, the song that just missed out at Kvalificacija za Millstreet, is better than all of their entries except those two I mentioned! Where would you have placed it?
@eurovisionconnor2 жыл бұрын
Their 1993 entry is good, I'd agree in ranking it 3rd out of their entries, either a 5 or 6 out of 10.

Had the Slovak juror acted more tactically (and the rest of the jurors not lost the absolute run of themselves, marking Slovenia in the way they had in Ljubljana), I think Slovakia’s Eurovision trajectory would have looked very different.
@in_wino_veritas2 жыл бұрын
Yes, maybe they should have voted more tactically, just like all other countries probably did, but on the other hand, being honest is a nice trait as well. Tactical voting (along with block voting) is one of the things that people are criticizing the most about Eurovision. It's a pity that they failed to qualify by just one point and I also think that it should have qualified, as it was actually better than many songs that directly qualified for the final.
Slovakia is one of my fav countries.Far from the best, but still good.My fav entry is their last one("Don't close your eyes").To some people might be mediocre, but i personally love it.

My top (including 1993): 1. 1998 (I agree, this is Slovakia's best song and it should've done much better in the contest) 2. 1993 3. 2010 4. 1996 5. 1994 6. 2009 7. 2012 8. 2011

My top 7 from Slovakia in Eurovision (1994-2012): 7: 2011: just cliche and cringy. Good voices though, 3/10. 6: 1996: pretty but does not really take off for me. 4.5/10. 5: 1994: very pleasant and inoffensive but not that memorable. 5/10. 4: 1998: very pretty and a good voice. Good instrumental too. 6.5/10. 3: 2010: this song has a really nice chill vibe and a good performance. But it is a tad bit basic and a bit overrated by the fandom. 7.5/10. 2: 2009: great vocals and harmonies and a great instrumental. Would have worked better with a live orchestra though. 8/10. 1: 2012: unpopular opinion but I really like this song. It has a really unique vibe and just hits different. The intro is a bit off putting but the song itself is good. 8/10. Yeah, to me Slovakia 🇸🇰 are not that memorable to me in Eurovision. Glad they made a return in 2009 but never really liked them before their return but I do think most of their good entries are from the more recent times. Hope they make a return someday but I would not be overly excited if they do.

Let me guess. It’s either 2010 or 1998.

Well, I figure Slovakia would have had a more set shape for what they could become had they participated more. Unfortunately, not a lot of these entries are the most convincing ones, but there are some pretty cool songs regardless. 1. 1994 - fun song with a great chorus, easily my favourite from them, they never really beat their debut. 2. 2010 - it’s a nice song, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to overhype it the way other Eurovision fans have done it. 3. 1998 4. 1996 5. 2012 6. 2009 - I feel like this might be one of my personal most forgettable entries in Eurovision, I never seem to remember how this one sounded like. 7. 2011 - not a great song idea, and the vocals suck, easy last place.

I honestly dont like much their entries. 2009 was a mess, some are decent or eh. I only enjoy Horehrenie. Overrated by the fans, but that really the only Slovakian entry I like.

Tbh, Slovakia wasn't strong in Eurovision. I only like 2010 and 2012, and 2012 was not great live. So, yeah...
