Ciao this is a lovely story. Thank you for sharing. My gramma was italian and she was beautiful and glamourous anf her perfume was Femme de Rochas. I have a 19 year old daughter and I admire the way your mum made you feel special by giving you precious perfume. It's amazing how fragrance can make us feel conected with our emotions and senses. It evokes memories and feelings. I guess this perfume is a symbol of the live and care your mum has for you and how she wants you to feel good about being a young woman despite the broken heart. just bough amouge sunshine! and i am loving it! literally, smelt it for a second at an airport boutique, and bought it immediately without hesitation. definitely get a sticky sweetness from the apricot, but nothing to overwhelming and it smells complex. only downside, is that it doesnt have great projection, and i really would love for everyone around me to smell how great it :)

I bought Maison Lancome oud bouquet because of your recommendation. I didn't blind buy it because it's not a cheap one. Instead, I smelt it in a department store and I prefer the new version to the older one. They are 90% to 95% similar, but the new one begins with a softer start, while the old one is a bit more woody and smoky, which stops me from buying it instantly. Now I got the new one and it is so fascinating in winter. Fragrances with rose-oud combination is definitely my favourite winter scent. I love both oud bouquet and oud satin mood. I would also recommend Indonesian oud by Ermenegildo Zegna for the rose-oud accord.

You’re probably too young, but have you ever smelled Max Mara for women? It’s not made anymore, and ginger is listed as a main note which I don’t normally like, but it was my very fave as a teen. It was sweet, almost like burnt sugar and so unique. My all time favourite fragrance which is really affordable now is Hanae Mori butterfly edp (blue butterflies on bottle) it’s strawberry, soft, vanilla-y sandalwood and other really delicate, sexy, feminine notes. I wore it on my wedding day and treasure it still. It’s gorgeous.
