It's so funny watching guitar nerds get mad as his success and calling him trash. He is playing to support the parts of his band mates and to fill a certain role in the song, it's not about impressing people, it's about making a cohesive work of art that delivers the intended effect. That makes him automatically better than most guitar players who just want to have people stroke their egos for being good at shredding.
