lol - commenting just in response to your professional's claim that too much iron is not a thing: It is! Haemochromotosis is an inherited disorder involving too much iron and ironically, one of the symptoms is bronzed skin. Fun fact! Thanks for posting your video! Just finished watching it - I think your veins look really cool! I can understand why you would have felt self conscious posting, but I'm glad you did. Thank you

Hi! I don't know if I have VEDS (hope not) but I have translucent skin too and I think it's beautiful! For the people out there that think otherwise, you have to know that some centuries ago people actually draw with makeup visible veins in their chest because that was considered a noble feature. So love yourselves guys, you are beautiful, beauty standards are always changing.

I am sort of in the same boat as I will be evaluate for EDS but I don't know what subtype and I have translucent skin so I really hope that it is not VEDS. I actually didn't know it was associated with EDS As I lived in South Africa so I just assumed that it was a racial thing as I am of Scottish origin and I used too think it looked but but then I started to think that it is pretty.

You are beautiful and I adored that picture with the veins showing. I have hEDS but also have the super translucent skin. My rheumatoligist refuses to do genetic testing, unfortunately I'm in a country where the knowledge on EDS is very poor. My eyelids are the most translucent and previous boyfriends often asked if I was wearing eyeshadow. On my chest and legs it is pretty visible too. I've had a number of DVTs and can clearly see the collatorals. Doctors were surprised about that too but again chose to ignore it.

@@TranslucentOne I know there are a few doctors that diagnose, but the problem here is you first have to go through your GP to get a referral for a specialist, and I got sent to a local rheumatologist who wasnt very knowladgeable and said my skin wasnt stretchy enough and refused to do further testing. I'm now in the process to try to get a second opinion through my insurance but it is a very slow and bureaucratic.

My hands have looked veiny and boney my whole life. People would say to me, that should eat more foods that I needed more weight to hide those features. I gained weight as I got older and nothing changed. I can still see almost all of my veins, and while some people told me it was gross I just sort learned to accept that I looked this way. I thought it was normal and those who didn’t have visible veins were different. I didn’t know that the opposite was true 🥹. The time I shaved my head bald, my veins were very visible. Glad I got over that phase and keep my hair long, it’s thin like yours happens to be and I am self conscious about it, a woman losing her hair tends be self aware. I’m not disgusted when I see veins, I think it means we’re all unique and have our own stories about each one of us.

@@TranslucentOne I saw a geneticist at a hospital here in New Jersey, after a year wait, in 2017, passed the beighton 9/9 for HEds, and had the full blood panel but nothing came up for veds etc. I do have pots, mcads, gastroparesis, scoliosis, lymphedema, and a dozen other comorbids .., I just always suspected veds due to my similar facial features , the skin issues etc to yours, though I’ve never had any ruptures, aortic issues etc.

I have translucent skin and i often attributed it to just being pale or fair-skinned. My family members dismissed it and idk if I have VEDs to HEDS but i'm so scared. I've been crying all night because I feel so stupid for only just now googling this symptom at 25 and having EDS come up. I've been in physical therapy for my hip slipping problem and now i think I may have HEDS. I'm not hyper mobile in every joint so it's difficult to say either way but the pain and the skin with my other symptoms it makes sense. Idk what to do I feel like giving up. Hey. I have always had very visible blue veins on my whole body. No hyper mobility of any veins. Im also very pale. My mom has the same, her siblings too. My dad also does have. No history of vEDS in my family, no ruptures or anything that would indicate vEDS. I suppose it is a genetic thing and doesn't necessarily mean vEDS or EDS.
