Gurrrl I LOVE seeing your simple props and rewards! I'm new to the company and sometimes watching other VIPKid youtubers makes me feel like I need to have a super elaborate setup of props and reward systems. But I totally agree with you, like why do I need a 3d prop of a pizza slice when it's already on the screen? I much prefer your kind of props that allow you to get to know the kids when their vocab isn't super strong! Thank you for sharing!!

This is such a good way to simplify everything!!! I'm thinking this will be a great way to create props as well. I'm still in the first demo phase but it seems like it will be way too much to have all of the individual stuff for each class...like what you said about it getting cluttered and reaching all over for props rather than using emotions and hand signs (I know sign language so it's much more natural and props get all messy). I'm sure I'll figure out a good balance haha Thank you!!!

Good video!! I appreciate your time stamps. I will look for that document in fb (sent request). We have travelled and taught. Lighting: I carried my lamp with the neck. I will look for yours. The only thing I have done differently is I have my whole set of traveling props "ready to go" separate from the ones I use I home. I like your fishbowl reward!! Thanks again!!

I truly appreciate you going through your 2D rewards. FYI: purchase painter's tape to tape your background. This will not peal the paint from the wall. It is usually blue. You can use vinyl stickers on your laminated sheets that you're drawing on. These will stick to your sheets and flashcards. Please make a video for Levels 3, 4, 5, and 6 2D props while traveling. Thanks. I always enjoy your videos.
@DreamyVibeDesigns6 жыл бұрын
The tape that I used and what's seen in the video is masking tape. So it does exactly what you're saying! And I don't have any specific level 3, 4, 5, and 6 props, so that video won't happen anytime soon. As stated in the video, I mostly teach level 2, so for me to bring other props doesn't make sense for me. Thanks for your comment!

I used to think I liked the 40 liter bags as well but then I realized that it is not just a dimensions issue, it is a weight issue and if it is over like 10 kilo, you have to check it and my laptop alone which is a super advanced and thin razer blade laptop is already like 4 kilos so... How do you manage with the weight restrictions?

I've already finished my first contract and onto my second, the thing is I've been in a rut which is my fault. I haven't been opening time slots but that's only because well I have no setup and I'm traveling. I used to use a poster board...

Which Ipad would suggest for class room backup?
@DreamyVibeDesigns6 жыл бұрын
Avery Fennell - I have only ever owned and used an iPad Pro (10.5”) so I can only attest to that. It works awesome! But I know many teachers that teach on normal iPads and they’ve never had a problem with them. The bigger the screen the easier it might be to draw.

If it is a regular student I will tell them at the beginning of class because they are usually confused about the background change. Not so much in the feedback though. Unless I’m having unusual technical difficulties due to the different location. Then I’ll mention it.

Wouldn’t it be better to have a job where you’re paid highly enough that you’re able to take vacations without having to work on vacation? Doesn’t this get annoying?
@DreamyVibeDesigns6 жыл бұрын
In my opinion there is a difference between “traveling” and “vacation”. VIPKID is great for someone like me who likes to travel for months at a time and sustain themselves while on the road while teaching whenever I want. If I’m just going somewhere for 2-4 days I won’t teach while I’m gone. But it’s great to have the option if you scheduled classes and then want to take an impromptu trip to your friends house upstate you just don’t HAVE to cancel your classes if you don’t want to. I like being my own boss and working when I want. This isn’t a “career” in the sense that there are benefits (dental/medical), but it’s a great option for some people like myself who only have to support themselves and can make a healthy living on my own time and go where I want when I want :) Certainly not for everyone though!
@rachelcohen62706 жыл бұрын

VIPKID Teacher Erin ya for sure! What year is it? Do you find the 11" is good for teaching with VIPKID and the screen is big enough for the program? Cameras good enough too for video?
@DreamyVibeDesigns6 жыл бұрын
What is bought was an "Apple MacBook Air A1370 11.6" Laptop - i5 1.6GHz 2GB RAM 64GB (GOOD CONDITION)". I believe it's from 2011. I only use it for surfing the web and VIPKID. I had to download the latest operating system (which took like 6 tries) but then it worked great! I don't mind the smaller screen size for teaching. The camera definitely is lower quality, but still teachable. I've never had anyone complain about it. It does the trick while traveling for me, but my 2013 MacBook Pro is certainly better quality for teaching.
