I live in Taunton and I've only drove in there by my fiance. Was quiet eerie though. But very fascinating. I didn't get to see much though🙁 Some of the buildings are still in use but nothing like that lady told you.

I enjoyed your narrative but so sorry, your information and the picture (not the video) is not up to date information. I worked there for over 3yrs and been to each part of the buildings/ground (Cain, Chambers, Glass the two other single buildings). The tale of the past is all online, but people walk their dogs and take walks around the grounds including me. The ground still holds DMH offices, Detox programs, and trainings but inter/external. There is a game room, full size gym, clinic and many more I felt the same before working there but at the end I love the way you can walk underground from one building to the other. Its a big project/building to maintain but still have to give it to the staff keeping it up to date. If you want to visit another old tale place visit the old Bridgewater hospital. I love information keep it up, I may watch your program on Netflix one day

I took the pictures on the same day I visited, all original copies, and they were current in 2021 when this video was posted. If you worked there recently then its been improved, but when I went there, that’s how some of the place looked like. Some units have been restored obviously.
