Maybe add a wind deflection across the roof so the panels don't grab the air. You can still keep 3 panels

That would work but it would hurt my aero a bunch. The truck already gets like 18mpg highway which is actually pretty good. I don't want it much worse than that. Unless I can come up with a good solution to hold more fuel that's not gas cans.

Your idea of one 150 watt panel (or a 200 if you can find one) down in the middle lengthwise is best, there should be little to no air right there.

I agree... I might try a different type of solar panel too. These still make power but they look absolutely horrible. I didn't realize how bad they looked till I saw the older video and pictures. They looked nice. They sure broke down quickly. I cleaned them once in the 2 years though. So that may have contributed but that's no excuse imo.

@@DadMods The flex ones are trash apparently, use one of the ones you bought. I think you'll have to drill it or strap it to the roof rack

The TRX is cool as hell. If I didn't already have a truck I'd have gotten one. At this point I'd rather have a cybertruck. Or maybe an electric f150 or a hybrid f150.

That was such a cool setup with the cooler powered by solar etc! I'd try to get a more permanent mount for maybe just two panels. It'd be a shame to scrap the entire idea just because of a setback.

The hair was gone at 25. lol. I didn't even think of the speed till it was too late. I was just trying to hurry home. Normally it was fine. After I installed them I went on like a 2000 mile road trip in the truck and it was fine. The tape just got disfigured and broke down and I never went and fixed.
