There is a potion of sloppy mechanics that is sloppy, like how matt ugga duggas cylinder heads down with an inpact gun, re uses head gaskets and plumbs his fuel pumps dangling around in the fuel tank. However the tuning side of sloppy mechanics is hardly sloppy, i have personally seen shops here in AUS put motors together with top shelf parts and using the "proper method" of installation only to have them fly to bits on the dyno because they have no idea how to tune it and then blame manufacturers of the parts they installed all because of an obvious lean condition or even just a poorly routed boost reference hose to the wastegate. In other words Matt can be sloppy where it doesnt matter and do things right where it needs to be done right

Just FYI, you can buy the foambacked fabric and 3M spray glue off of amazon for cheap to fix that headliner. Did it in my SCLB 2500 and only took a few hours. I'm fairly tall and got sick of that shit sitting on my head going down the road

I know this is an older video and changes have prob already been made, but the issue with the trans not going into 3rd until the rpms are up is due to your torque converter not matched properly with the cam shaft specs, the resulting heat generated, and the torque management system on the 4L60E. I know it’s prob irrelevant now, just food for thought.

Burnout762 cool man, my 3-4 just went out, planning on getting that transmission with the sun stuff and corvette stuff with a 2800 stalk.. mine is a 07 classic z71 and had the transfer case adapter cracked twice and literally ran the thing till it slipped so bad it wouldn't go, then put more fluid and got it home... stayed on it cause I figured what the hell, it's burnt... I changed that adapter and have drive it another year lol.. used to race 80s Silverado trucks with turbo 350s and 400s and if they slipped once for like five seconds that was it, done..just thinking if it's gonna cost a shit load anyway I wanna use a 80e and go from there, but in the meantime I'm doing a junk yard special lol..

Screw a 4l60e you never know what they are gonna act like under load its random some last some are lemons. Buddies trying to build thier trucks always talking about how many 60es they went thru or making over 500 mark and it nuetrals out in the middle of a pull then goes back into gear. I got lucky with mine cause im pretty sure before i traded in i had water in the trans and it was still shifting fine lol.

Inexpensive junkyard 4l80e swaps are not that difficult in the NBS RWD 1500's. Not a simple R&R; however, with proper parts and homework, it's easily capable of handling forced induction power levels. Long time followers of Sloppy Mechanics (Matt Happel a.k.a. Denmah) know his warnings about the 4l60e weakness near 400 whp levels. The stock aluminum driveshaft and G80 "gov lock" differential case are the other reported weak links in these f/i NBS 1500 applications. Learn from other's experiences and do the drivetrain upgrades BEFORE installing a turbo kit. At least you can sell functioning used parts to offset costs.

Don't give up man. I have a 2000 model at BlueCollarlsx. Twin turbo stock bottom end 6.2. A billet turbo 400 and cheap 14 bolt rear end. It isn't leaf spring has ladder bars. Goal is to run mid fives or high 4's on E90. But it is still a project don't run yet. My truck originally had a big block from BB&T racing engines in it on drag radial.
