As a prior GSM with luxury brands I think you nailed it! it’s a huge benefit to know how these sales managers think. Some nights I would have done almost anything for a deal.. Step up on a 1yr old Vette? No problem! Just do it. Make any deal. The top sales person approach is great, definitely your best play if you can’t get the sales manager on the phone or better yet work directly with the GSM, just call him like he’s your old buddy...just another way to cut straight through the clutter. Knowing your numbers is the key, the sales manager can assemble you numbers in 30 seconds, you should know them that good too. Find the SM or GSM and work the deal over the phone. Just remember they need deals, every day.

@@saimahsexperience ❤️❤️❤️, but is that a “slingshot”= huge liability (get rid of it) . When the front end has 2x the stability of the rear end , abrupt spin-outs” are inevitable . I’ve seen the remains, in all types of traffic. Similar to having 40lbs of air in all but one rear tire having 5 lbs (and then drive it aggressively)

Wonderful information, for anyone new to the auto industry reading this stay "far" away from dealer add-ons. Dealerships regularly charge 200-800% and up for something you probably don't need or can do yourself. As an example a dealership I worked for charged $270 for fabric protection. For under $15 you can get 2 cans of Scotch guard and spend 10 minutes of your time to you save $255. That's a 1,800% mark-up and people buy it! Even worse, imagine paying interest on that insane mark-up. It's brutally painful.

I would suggest buying a car that is already 2-4 years old. The bulk of the depreciation is already in place by then, plus the car is new enough to still have a lot of life in it.

This is what I decided is going to be my strategy if I start up with the Turo business. Buy later model cars at a value that still have a lot of shelf life in them. If you can get a dealership licence and get them at auction that's gold. Great minds think alike.

Saimah, love your videos! One important thing, though, on the Corvette example. Don't you have to factor in insurance, in addition to the car payment? Not talking about Turo's insurance cut (in your case, 15%), but your own personal insurance on the car for the times you're driving it.

@19:30 mark .... you are so so right! I am in the Auto Industry and planning to start Turo on the side. However I have been the Salesman of the year 4 years straight and going on #5 now. Through my experience you hit it right on the nose it's all about units and time we have a way better understanding of what works and what doesn't work we also have a better sales relationship with the sales desk and finance department. As for a rookies or a "Green Pea" that is what we call them. They are not going to get as much leeway if we need to reduce the price of certain items. With the Green Pea the sales mgr or the "Desk" which is who says what goes numbers wise are going to hold the rookies feet to the fire and not budge as much in efforts to try and train them as well. Your statement about the value of the vehicle in a year and negative equity is key. Kelley Blue Book is another tool you can use to gauge the value of your car in a year. This will definitely fluctuate with the market. But at lease can get a ballpark value with the added miles. GREAT VIDEO! 👍🏽 THANK YOU

Very good information to consider when doing Turo. I feel trade in value depends highly on a lot of variables such as Geographic location. Jeeps here in Texas are up there for resale values with pickup trucks. Everyone owns and wants a pickup truck or Jeep to modify. I got a good amount on my trade for my 2013 Jeep Wrangler compared to other cars...

Okay everything she is saying is great. What she didn't talk about beside the car payment is also the insurance payment. When financing the car I have to get my own insurance to satisfy the bank who is giving me the loan. So it's not only the car payment, there is also the insurance payments.

Things to look out for when buying a Turo car: - 18% off MSRP - generally dealers who have incentive to clear out their vehicles - 1-3% interest on loan - Good resale value (e.g. selling a corvette at a BMW dealership get a BMW financing and its cashflow +ve where as something like a KIA will likely go to auction) - look for the top sales person whom usually go by quantity of their sales than up-sell

Also, looking for the best or top salesman at a dealership can guarantee you one thing, you're probably going to pay more than you should for the car, warranties, amenities, etc. You never want to talk monthly payment, you should always talk bottom line price of the vehicle, even in this instance for renting your car out. If you can get 1-3% APR, then you're in great shape, but most car buyers are nowhere near that APR and end up getting raked over the coals.

My auto advocate is another great channel that focuses on buying cars from a dealership. Their rule of thumb is NEVER talk about car payments.. Always focus on the total price. Naturally if the total price is lower the payment will be lower especially if you secure a loan through your bank.

Best Video I’ve seen so far in this subject. I want to get high revenue and profit, so may go with the LUX/Sports cars, but will start my research for now to see how I can start with any high valued car and still be able to get a good Turo price, and re-sell value in 12 months. Will definitely be looking at car dealership lots allot differently now. I don’t mind starting with a cheaper car, but will have to trade it in maybe in 6 months, which maybe could get it leased, or buy with high value. Then move up from there.

You’re amazing and I love your strategies. I wanted to follow those who looked at this truly as a business with a wealth mindset. My husband and I are super excited to learn more and look to your trainings as well.

There’s only one real thing I would disagree with on your buyer strategy. Never tell these salesman what you want your note to be upon entering the dealership or signing any papers. That lowers your bargain position totally and it places the position of control in their hands. Remember they need you and you have to act aloof and act like you don’t need them even if you do. Get your invoice price before you go in and then look at 2-8% lower then that NOT the sticker price. share as little info as possible with them and get your preferred buyer/price number on a contact signed before you talk about any trade in number... don’t let them combine the two. That’s 2 separate transactions so treat them that way and you’ll walk away a winner. But be prepared to walk out also and move onto a dealership that will EARN your business not the stealerships that don’t deserve your business.

I don't sell cars, but I do make 100% of my income from commission on sales. And I will say this. If you tell me what you can afford, and where you want your monthly payments, I will get you the best deal on products you can afford and that you will be happy with. If you try to play me, I will feel it instantly (I do this shit every day, youre not going to do/say anything I haven't heard 20 time before), we aren't going to come to a deal we can both be happy about because one of us is being shady. Most people in sales, and the good ones, don't care about squeezing maximum commission from every deal. They want happy customers that will come back and spend more later and tell their friends. The object is to make more deals, not screw people. The more honest, the more money. If the customer isn't being honest, they are just hurting themselves.

herranton1979 if the customer doesn’t do their own homework prior to the sale they’re hurting themselves. The last thing they wanna do is tell a salesman what they want their car note to be, that’s when the customer will get played.

@@XX-166 Of course, do your own homework. But don't be shady. I don't walk into any deal thinking I want to squeeze every last penny out of someone. Nor does any good sales guy. You shouldn't walk into it with the expectation that you're going to know more than the sales people. I make more money when my customers are happy. They tell their friends and I get more sales. I wanna be your guy. That's how sales people make money. If you get a reputation for screwing people, you won't last, especially in the internet age. (But also, let's be clear here, I know more about my product than you do. If you 'do your homework' and get everything wrong when I show up; don't get all mad when I correct you. This happens every once in awhile where I show up, someone insists on the wrong product, and gets mad when I advise against it. At that point I have two bad options. I can sell you a product you won't be happy with, or I can try to explain why you want something else. At that point, if I try to sell you something else, people sometimes think I'm putting a sales job on them. Then you're just hurting yourself. More than once, someone has insisted on a product I don't recommend, spent over ten thousand dollars, and then called 3 months later either mad that the product failed (even though I explained that it probably would) or that they aren't happy with it because it isn't performing how the internet said it would. I'm very sorry Mrs. Johnson, but do you remember when we discussed how I didn't think this product would work for you? I know you read that on the internet, but I tried to explain that isn't how _my_ product works.)

herranton1979 that’s great that you subscribe to your own sales tactics. The buyer should subscribe to their own to protect that financial investment so that the money is spent wisely. Get informed BEFORE you go into the dealership and the buyer will have a better experience since it’s their money that’s being spent. The informed customer ultimately decides their destiny not the dealership or the salesman.
