Heat the inserts over a stove and put the mag in. I find the inserts help with reindexing dramatically.

In regards to the difficulty in pulling out mags with the Haley chest rig I have had the same problem. Magpul mags are difficult to pull out however I use lancer or steal mags in mine and it is much better.
@joshe92862 жыл бұрын
You can heat up those esstac-kywi-like (can't remember if the ones from Haley are the esstac things or not) mag retainers and stretch them out a bit to make them slightly less clingy than the chick from Wedding Crashers. Kind of a pain but when I tried to just remove them entirely from the D3CM and run around, the mags were a little too loose for comfort. Also harder to re-index without those inserts

Ditch the x and h harnesses. I found them uncomfortable. Got a "padded harness" from Beez combat systems. Have to add the 1" buckles to fit the Haley strategic rigs, but they'll do that on request. So much more comfortable. Plus built in drag handle and molle.

I just got the Haley micro chest rig to add on to my Drago pack. With a couple of mods, it will work perfectly. The build quality of the rig, though, is not that good, in my opinion. The single stitch job surprised me and is generally sloppy. It is not what I expected. It will be fine until I find another company that is as rugged as the Drago products.

Love that Brave Castle setup. It's like having all the benefits of an LV119 with an elastic cummerbund without having to run plates. I'm a fan of the Haley micro, but it makes me feel pregnant, like I have a tactical baby in the front when I wear it. I love the convenience, but it's impossible to go prone if the need were to ever arise. Things to consider.

Reject insanely expensive chest rigs, return to TAPs. 7 mags is a MINIMUM combat load. Tbh, these smaller 3 mag setups could be relpaced by a pair of cargo shorts and a hoodie. You'd be a lot less inconspicuous.

Don't lie to people. You can build the BCR-1 out. The BCR-1 is very versatile and accepts danglers and expander wings.
@jimmybrodriguez2 жыл бұрын
Hahaha well with the cummerbund design you don’t really need expander wings. Also I did say you could build it out just differently and not to the extent of some others. Not a negative just trade offs depending on what’s priority

technically in a bugout situation or just SHTF you are not going to take a plate carrier because of the excess wight your get out of dodge gear weapons, ammo, food, water ifak etc. rule of thumb is something like 35% of your actual bodyweight or so I have been told so a chest rig in my opinion would be ideal 35% of bodyweight adds up pretty quick especially for those of us that are out of shape. which brings me to maybe some good content of doing an updated basic SHTF bugout technics and gear and weapons

@SilverShamrockNovelties2 жыл бұрын
I think it’s absurd to go willingly into an armed conflict with anything more than a Spiritus Micro Rig with 3 mags. Because if you’re gonna die, you should look like a tier 1 flannel operator while your perforated carcass is laying in a ditch with crappy drawers. Make sure you have your kestrel, laser rangefinder and a GPS in the $79 utility pouch. Because if you’re taking incoming fire, you’re definitely going to want to take time to range the target and dial in your Nightforce optic and take one precise shot. Everyone knows that watching your impact and implementing a holdover to rapidly engage a threat is for noobs, and you’re only an operator if you have your dope chart in your multicam wristband. Don’t be a poser. All those pouches filled with extra mags are for larpers. Your belt should have nothing on it except your sexy plastic holster for a glock with a red dot and flashlight plus 2 extra pistol mags you’ll never use in a fight. Never put any other gear on your hips just because that’s where you’re anatomically best equipped to carry a load. It doesn’t look cool. Everything, including your lunch, wet weather gear, prescription meds, land nav, and night vision, should all be on your chest rig. If it interferes with your reload in a fight and you die from it, it’s only because you didn’t spend enough money going to training courses where some washed up security guard yells at you about your split times and not flicking your safety back on fast enough while you’re rehearsing how to navigate the numerous pouches on your loadout. Get good.
