I'd be fine if they stopped too but I think they use it as a breath control technique/method. If they weren't pretending to sing it, then they'd have to do more complex dancing (not have to but the girls would probably want to, ex: wlm) and that would create a lot more stress on their bodies.

On this tour, it was only the cure, secret love song, and Jesy once in told you so. SLS was twice (excluding when they cried cause of the couple that got engaged). Jesy struggled to get through the cure the first week of the tour and fan projects made some of the other girls emotional as well. If I had to guess off memory, I think they cried a total of 3 or 4 times during the cure.
