Intersting Kait, don't ride but setting up for the gdmbr folks coming by my place this year, lots of water, places to camp property or shelter for ALL riders. Silly " how i set up for awesome riders on the GDMBR"? Might just see youtube channel myself of riders out here. Again great meeting you hot sulfur springs. Best wishes to you!

Thanks for the video Kait, great job on the results. I'm wondering what was your fueling strategy for such a long race... you had some vest pockets but can't imagine that was enough... do you bank on gas station stops or similar? Thanks!

Nice job! Would you recommend a dropper seat post for the 350XL? Thanks!

Thanks for the video. Where do you store your food and sleeping gear on your bike?
@kaitboyle4 ай бұрын
You're welcome! i put food in my frame bag and panniers, and sleeping kit was in the pitchfork bag on my aerobars

@@kaitboyle Thanks for the info. I found your KZbin Channel by listening to the Pivot Podcast with you and Kurt. I also live in Prescott AZ. You two are such great ultra-riders. Riding to Unbound then riding 350 miles. Unbelievable! I would consider driving to Kansas a long drive.

Nice set up and break down 👍🏻….I’ve a Revelate mag tank and the magnetic closure lost its grab so I rubbed a strong magnet on it to re-magnetise it 🥳Can you Bluetooth planned routes from Kamoot direct to that Garmin solar ? Thanks 🤟🏻
@kaitboyle5 ай бұрын
that's a creative solution! You can bluetooth routes from RWGPS to the Garmin so I would imagine you can from Komoot, you just have to connect it through Garmin Connect

Great job! Question related to aerodynamics. Would running a revelate spinelock seatbag for storage be beneficial or not when it comes to drag?
@kaitboyle6 ай бұрын
I'm certainly not an aerodynamics expert, but I think a seat bag would be one of the better places to put gear!

Interesting, well presented. Can’t imagine doing the 1250 mile approach with that minimal setup. And the logistics for accommodations and food pre and post race is important for other racers. Don’t like the pump in the backpack as hard items back there create a risk for spine fractures during a crash. Better lashed to the frame, IMO.

Thanks! Did you see my video with the whole bikepacking setup? I converted the bike to race mode once in Emporia, it was quite loaded for the ride there! I stayed at a house while in Emporia, right in town. Between an easy walk to a store and generous friends who loaned me a car for errands, the logistics worked out smoothly. There's a place in the pack that keeps the pump away from my spine - agreed that is a concern and in this pack it works for me.

Nope, just out for the 200 mi elite. (kind of strange that the rest of the 200 mi fields can use them!)

@@kaitboyle yep. So if I understand what you said. You rode 1250 to get there then did another 350 during the race. Wow Sounds like you're preparing for the tour divide next year. You're ready 😁

"10% quicker" sure buddygal, let's make it 18%, why limit ourselves in the BS factor?
@kaitboyle6 ай бұрын
If you have conflicting information please share, I'm not BSing anything.
@channul48875 ай бұрын
@@kaitboyle I wouldn't call inconvenient facts "conflicting information". Marketing doesn't like facts. If these hubs are 10% faster than the previous hubs then the previous hubs were a joke and the company admits they were ripping their customers off. Hubs ain't something that needs to be studied closer with the help of quantum physics and complex AI models to get right. Hubs are hubs, there's not much you can do to make them 10% faster (unless you made your old model slow on purpose that is).
@kaitboyle5 ай бұрын
@@channul4887 interesting. How about in future videos I avoid facts that could be interpretted as BS and you avoid responding with "buddygal" and calling BS. I'm doing my best with the information I have, which while I can certainly avoid sharing facts, I can share that these hubs are improved to be more efficient (fewer pauls = less resistance and lighter hub = faster hub), that's pretty basic and while the original Hydra hub has been improved for a lighter weight and faster platform, that certainly doesn't render them made to be slow on purpose or a joke . I think the point of engineering new products is to make them better which is possible for any component. So feel free to disregard the 10% statement but know that they are indeed improved to be faster.

@@kaitboyle how about in the future you try to avoid shilling using marketing BS as facts, galldem?
