Good hot takes! Especially about pre-owned figures! My figure hot take! I LOVE translucent tips on hair! I know many collectors find that detail cheap because it’s commonly found in prize figures but I have scale figures that execute translucent hair tips well like my Symphony Miku!

It's alright if you collect one character that's up to you and hey I only have Levi ackerman figures and then when I can be bothered I'll move on, only when I feel like it because at the end of the day it's your figure collection so ignore people like that.

I bought my Moekore Plus Encore Package 1/6 Miku for $35 dollars and she’s in almost perfect condition! The seller was super communicative and kind and I’d gladly take that over an unopened $100+ new figure any day, especially when older figures have a tendency to get sticky with age when not removed from their boxes.

I do actually buy most of my figures preowned. This is not just a money thing, but also comparatively better sometimes when it comes to their condition. New Figures tend to store up moisture because of the plastic packaging and plasticizer in them, so anything that is new and older than 3 years has a chance to be a bit sticky from my experience. So buying a preowned figure in very good condition is probably the better call here. I also do air my figures that are still boxed up from time to time because of that.

Don't know if these are hot takes but: Funko Pops are ugly soulless husks, and a waste of money and shelf space. Also, bigger isn't always better. Sometimes the smallest figures can leave the biggest impact. I know that probably contradicts my last point, but I still stand by my opinion.

@@nine_tails137 I think Funko Pops are a great gateway into collecting for people with smaller budgets, but they definitely start to feel soulless when you realize they more or less look the same as every other Funko. I still have some in my collection for characters who I don't expect to get other figures anytime soon, but I see your point.

@@TheFigureFrontier Personally, I have zero Funko Pops, nor do I plan on adding any to me collection. Even if it's a character I can't find a figure of. Hell! I've actually seen Lego Minifigures of iconic characters, that are way more appealing! Also, my standards for figure collecting are price, source accuracy, and articulation. And Funko just doesn't meet those standards.
