I liked your version a lot. Your soft voice makes it sound so intimate. As for making it too personal - I think the best art is really personal. You can really tell when an artist truly feels it - and people are drawn to that for a variety of reasons. They may identify with it due to similar experiences - everybody needs to feel like they aren’t the only person in the world feeling a certain way. It may expose them to a point of view they had not considered before - a new idea can be a powerful force. They may be drawn to the vulnerability you show by putting yourself out there for the world to see - most people don’t do that - I don’t do that. I always feel like there is too much fucked up shit and I don’t want it weighing on anyone else. But thank you for reminding me that it is possible.

Oh wow, this really got to me. I turned 18 today, and these lyrics really encapsulated my feelings. I often lie awake wondering who I am, and have I done anything worthwhile. In my family it's traditional for the person who's birthday it is to pick out what's for supper. I have to work during dinner tonight, and I see that the food set out is something I don't eat, and three chicken breasts to go with. There are four members of my family. I used to be so passionate about things, and now? There's just nothing. I'm always been a perfectionist, but always feel like I can never be That person. I don't have may friends, and I always feel so alone. And I'm stuck. I'm stuck being someone I nearly know or recognize. And it sucks. 18 years of living, and I still don't know. I'm constantly crushed with this fear of just being. Being someone that no one remembers, or if they do, as someone who never did anything worth remembering. This reminds me a lot of myself when I was your age- I'm 21 now and I know it's not really all that far from 17, but in a lot of ways its also worlds away. This thing that you've made, it's beautiful. It captures a very specific and impactful period of your life, and a very real feeling- But it's also something that you're going to look back on one day, and see just how much you've changed and grown, how far you've come. That funny feeling is always gonna be there, and a part of your life, but it takes on so many different nuances as you grow. In five years if you wanted to you could rewrite this song again and find it completely different from this version of it. You are so young, and I say that not to invalidate this, because I am also so very young, I say it to mean that the loneliness you feel now is not forever. You're going to go on to love and be loved by so many people, you just haven't found them yet.
