I also became enthralled with the Civil War in 5th/6th grade. And I have a copy of "Echoes of Glory" from Ollies too!

YAY! You’re finally back! I’m so happy that you’re back making videos. And I’m super glad that you’re recovered from Covid. Winning the Gettysburg Address contest is so cool. That sounds like so much fun! It’s funny you said that you corrected your teacher about Gettysburg because I actually had a similar circumstance. My history teacher said that George Meade took over after General Jackson died and she said that Meade was a Confederate. But I told her that he did not take over after Stonewall’s death because they weren’t even on the same side of the war. That is a super cool book. I still remember the first Civil War book I ever got and first battlefield I ever went to. Thank you for all that you do❤!

For those of us who grew up during the centennial, our entry level drug was American Heritage's illustrated Civil War book by Bruce Catton. That was the first volume in what has become several thousand history books crowding every nook and cranny of my home.
