It's very nice that you aren't criticizing your old work and saying why you appreciate it still, I'm used to hearing people say they're embarrassed or their old work is ugly, etc.

I really love how you don't judge your old creations negatively. Some artists tend to be really harsh on their past selve's skills and it can be pretty demotivating when you (as the viewer) are on that level right now. You (Rachel) on the other side seem to really have respect for your starting point and I, in turn, have a lot of respect for that. I am just about to start out with sculpting in polymer clay, so thank you for showing me that there is no reason to look back at my first creations with negative judgment in the years to come. We all just start somewhere.

It's really nice to see you not talking negatively about your old creations, even though I personally consider your old creations to be genuinely really good! As someone who loved art as a child, fell in love with polymer clay charms as a 9 year old, then gave up because I felt that my creations weren't good enough, and also gave up on drawing (which I loved PASSIONATELY) due to harsh criticism and impossible standards, it's really motivating to see where you are now and how much you've improved, and to also see you display your old charms without negative critique or harsh words. I, fairly recently, have gotten back into clay charms now as a 17 year old and I plan on continuing this hobby from this point on. As I write this comment, I haven't yet gotten back into drawing or digital art, but I plan to when I feel ready. I'm finally getting out of this emotional funk where I constantly judge everything I create, then drop the art because I get demotivated by my lack of skill (despite knowing full well that practice and patience is key). I know no one asked to hear me drop all of that information, but I felt like this was the appropriate space to sort of "vent" about my little journey. I admire your creations and I aspire to be able to create clay charms with the skill that you currently do, and I know it's possible if I just genuinely dedicate myself to it. Even though I'd probably never consider my old (which would currently be my current) clay charms as sellable on Etsy, or necessarily something to be impressed by, they'll always be my first step back into doing something I love, and I'll always have them to look back on and see my improvements over time. Our old creations, even our very first (including my weird, half-painted, wonky polymer clay dollar charm that I made at 9 years old), are worthy of respect, and love. Thank you for helping me realize that.❤

hi Rachy, your animal charms are really really cute. I love watching all your tutorials/craft tour/behind the scenes very much. I'm a beginner with clay, making cold porcelain by myself because i don't really know how to play those air dry ones, so i made a cold porcelain from the recipe i found from KZbin XD I'm glad it turned out pretty well and the results pretty much similar with polymer clay (which i nv try on) and i glaze them with sculpey satin. Re-watching your craft helps me to get back my motivation to craft. Your video was the first one that drives me into learning clay crafting when I was doing Needle Felting back in 2015. Thanks Rachy for all the amazing tutorial
