Like Allen said, IronMind should have given Carl the proper treatment and exposure for this historic certification. No taking the gripper out of the package, no judge, no witnesses, man, it's like 1998 all over again😢.

He has clearer (shorts) clips of him CCS closing a 220 number 4 for one rep and 9x CCS reps on a 3.5 182 on his youtube channel I would say he's legit.

Well said. I too believe it was closed because I think many of us know what he’s talking about when he said he could feel it close. I’ve filmed many closes where on video it may appear like a mm off when it certainly did close. But I also agree that the video unfortunately was of poor quality. Simply having a credible witness there preferably with a second camera trained low on just the handles would have put it all to rest. Undoubtedly the best gripper feat ever done regardless of video quality though!

I dont understand carl. If i would do a 4ccs cert i had at least 2 or 3 cams with Guys Filming it. I repeat: 4 ccs cert!!! Biggest Feat in history. I 100% believe it was closed because i know carl. But man the video could be Filmed better.

Any time I did a mash monster cert over the 2, I had multiple videos, as well. One stationary and one mobile, capturing EVERYTHING.

I cant understand how tf iromnind have judges in person certifying simple #3 closes, but when someone finally manages to get the #4 under their new rules, they dont send anyone. thats simply a disrespect both to carl tremendous effort to get to this level, and also to the coc legacy itself - which was created by themselves... such no-brainers

I think it was a legit close, for just a short time and he wasn’t able to keep it shut. He did awesome. Maybe he’ll re-certify sometime later with a more convincing video and longer hold so he can silence any dissent.

Larry Wheels made a vid with him a few days ago. You can clearly see he's capable of a #4 CCS. He even reps the #4 NS for 5. You can hear the clink of metal on metal. There's no question in my mind after watching the vid. He actually shouts you out for a brief moment as being one of the top guys in the sport

Yep, i saw the video. I don't think anyone doubts Carl's strength on grippers. He's the strongest gripper guy, basically EVER. My critique, I thought I was pretty clear on - IronMind's constant poor video history

You can see the gripper close. It’s hard to see. His pinky almost covered it and the gripper he closed is 215 rgc that’s light work for carl.

We know that most likely he closed it..but..Just going off the video you cannot tell that it closed or not. For this feat there should have been a judge or multiple cameras set up. Imagine that some random guy nobody has heard of sent this video in... No chance it gets approved. Can't really say.. Well I've seen his training videos so it probably closed. Either way the guy is a monster and that's crazy strong

When you mention me, was this for the attempt made at King Kong or 4forFeb? No offenses are taken. If it's for King Kong, I agree. I started going down before the down command was given. It should have never counted, period. 4forFeb, I believe, and I can be completely wrong. Thought I got the down command and followed it by the rules. But it was hard to tell. I was really in the zone when I made the attempt. I was only aware of my breathing, the hub and the down command.

I'm one of the people that messaged Jedd. Ordinarily I am an Ironmind fan. This time, they missed the mark. The cert requirements and judging are NOT consistent. I believe he closed this gripper, but not in the spirit of the cert. Only Carl nut huggers would pass this.
