A good educational or occupatioal backgroup is always very good before going abroad, although many of the educated ones would still do some menial jobs. One might easily find a job abroad, if one was a nurse, a doctor, a profi. mechanic et. c. before travelling abroad. If you studied history, philosophy, geography, bible knowledge et. c., you might not find it easy abroad. But, that your educational background will enable you to start something new. If you didn't go to school atall, it's gonna be very very difficult. That is why they indulge themselves in criminal things. It is not correct to say that when you come abroad, you will do what the others are doing. Who are the others !?
