I love vintage! I’ve inherited lot of 22k gold, pure silver and diamonds/rubies etc from my great grandmother and also keep buying myself. Such a legacy to pass on to the future generations. It’s a very asian thing too!

24k gold is really popular in India too! Your collection is really good. I’m not much into luxury stuff but I really like vintage stuff. I was 10 too when my parents got me a 22k gold chain from a trip to Dubai, I think gifting gold jewelry to kids is an Asian thing. I only wore that chain on my birthday. And my cousin and his wife just bought a gold bangle and ring and chain for their 5 year old daughter. Personally I wouldn’t because kids like colorful stuff and they can lose expensive stuff, pandora is the most I’ll get.

You’re so right!!!! I do feel gold jewelry is an Asian thing in a lot of families, my mom would tell me it’s good luck or good fortune etc. I don’t but my kids jewelry at all, but they will definitely inherit these. Thanks for watching ☺️☺️🙏

Most definitely an Asian tradition, I received my first jewellery item also in 24k gold from my mother at 18years, I’m now 50! Vintage Heirloom pieces in my collection mostly from from grandmothers & mother which I’m also giving to my adult girls. It’s a beautiful thing!🥰

What a gorgeous collection Tabby!! Merry Christmas to you and your family!! Thank you so much for being a positive influence this year. I love the direction your channel has taken. Calling out the consumerist culture in our society is certainly not a popular view and I admire you so much for that. You are a great role model for your kids and us ladies like me who used to be easily influenced by influencers.

Heyyyyyyy gf!!!!! I don’t think you ever told me your name 🫣? But I am so taken back by your comment. It actually made me teary eyed because it was so heartfelt and so incredibly thoughtful of you to say. I have been trying to go more that route and to hear you say that means so much. Thank you for being such a positive light here and always sharing your words of encouragement. Plus also supported each other on low buy! Even though sometimes I do get a little something here and there! Definitely not as bad as I used to be. I hope your new year is even better than that the last! Sending love and blessings.

The ring with rose gold and yellow gold looks like it could possibly be black hills gold? I saw a lot more of that style back in the early-mid 2000s. In my family, it was common for the young girls to be gifted jewelry (my parents got me a ring for my 10th birthday, my aunt got me a bracelet for Christmas one year, etc.). I think my family might have been more into gifting jewelry than the average family, but I also do think it was a more common practice back then considering how much more affordable gold was compared to now.
@TabbyViolet Жыл бұрын
Oh my! Thank you!!! I looked up Black Hills Gold and that looks exactly like the style of ring mine is! I remember seeing a lot of that back then! And you are so right, gold wasn’t as pricey back then… so that makes sense that getting them as gifts was more common. But like your family, I think my family enjoying gifting jewelry since my mother loved it so much back then :)

@@TabbyViolet Everyone says I say it weird, but to me it sounds like the way everyone else says it. It’s the e, but when others repeat it the way I say it it sounds like ache with the g sound attached. Must be my accent, I do speak fluent Portuguese plus fluent English (Canadian).

24k is very soft for a jewelry that is why in the Philippines we usually use 14 - 18k gold. Rosary Rings are also vey popular in the Philippines. It’s a protection and at the same time it is very handy when you want to pray the rosary.
@TabbyViolet Жыл бұрын
I actually prefer 18k since it isn’t too soft!!! Love the rosary rings! Xox
