As soon as you post a new video, I automatically press 'like' before I've even watched most of it. I swear if you made a 30 minute video telling us all why we should paint kittens green and listen to the Black Dyke Brass Band playing hits by Abba, I'd still press 'like' and endure it, purely out of loyalty.

Nice collection! Admittedly I don't have any vinyls, since as is I lack the means to use them, the space to keep them, or the money to really afford them, so for the time being at least I'm just sticking to CDs. Sure, it's not as glamorous, but it's still nice. It's not as big or diverse a collection as yours, either, but I like it and try to add to it when I can. For the A section, the only album in common is Asia's debut (though I'd like at least Alpha at some point too). I also have three Animals as Leaders albums (missing the debut and the newest one) and every Ayreon release, plus I'm looking to get at least a few Arena albums at some point too. Definitely some stuff you got that I'd like to find someday too!

@MochaDaisy86454 күн бұрын
Well since Jon Anderson is mentioned in this video and being judged is mentioned in this thread, I thought this would be a good place to do a “what if” that my friends would judge me for. What I mean by that is that I’m always coming up with ideas for the “dream team” all-star bands and existing bands touring together, to the point where my friends just roll their eyes and think I’m crazy (but in a good way, like the way people need at least one crazy friend to tell interesting stories about). Let’s say Jon is planning a farewell tour and recruits Tony K on keys (both men pushing 80). Assuming that Bill Bruford is not coming out of retirement (I think he would be better suited for that Beat project if he did, anyway…), let’s say it’s Simon Phillips on drums. His skill set would have it that he would be suitable in the shoes of Bill and Alan White in any context. Then to round it out, Steve Morse and Geddy Lee (assuming he DOES come out of retirement). I don’t see why this couldn’t work but is it too far fetched?

Atlantis Philharmonic was from Cleveland. Only made that one album. Got a chance to see them live (backing the Raspberries I think) at St Pascals Church gym. They could do most of that album live and were amazing to watch. 2 guys, Royce Gibson on drums and Joe DiFazio on everything else, which was an understatement. He would play the keys with one hand, guitar in the other hand (using hammer-ons & pulloffs) and the bass pedals with his feet, all at the same time.

Speaking of my A section, I recently traded in my Aerosmith records for an Amon Duul record.

A good trade.

Did I miss these? No Alice Cooper (I file under "A" because I only have the Group albums)? No Allman Brothers Band? No AWB? 😁
@TheProgCorner23 күн бұрын
Man! I used to have all the Alice Cooper up through Flush The Fashion either on LP or cassette.

Scot, no ABC? I would recommend giving ABC's The Lexicon of Love a try.

Doin’ something diffrunt, heh?! Why not by calmly opening the show with an easy and gently “Hello my dear followers, this is your host Scott from Prog Corner ….”. Ok, Scottie, what’s up? How about a rundown on musicians that used odd instruments?! Like tambourines…. 🤪 Now I am being stupid. A like in Arena or Ars Nova or Angelo Branduardi, maybe? PS just wonder how you deal with Älgarnas Trädgård or treat them as Garden of Elks?! Also thinking of Asia Minor. And my moscovian groups like Agata Kristi and Auktsion.

"I don't mind swedish pop." Any ABBA in your collection?

I figured most people would assume I meant ABBA when I said it was a pop group from Sweden!!! No. No ABBA in the collection. My wish list is ENORMOUS!!!
@hansvandermeulen551523 күн бұрын
@@TheProgCorner early ABBA can be abit corny, later ABBA has some great pop songs like Head Over Heels (that chromaticism) or The Day Before You Came (beautiful lyrics). Well, very different from Zappa or Yes.
