On the discussion of players helping players in modern mmos, a side of retail a lot of people don't see or even know about is the newcomer chat and the concept of Guides. Experienced players can sign up to join newcomer chat as a guide and answer questions and help people out. I mostly just answer questions in the chat but I see a lot of other guides offering to actually go to where a person is to help them do something, as well as just socializing with the new players to welcome them into the community. I honestly think the community's in a pretty decent spot right now if you ignore the toxicity on online forums and whatnot. Obviously not perfect, and there's still a lot of bad vibes in game, but I'd say it's nowhere near as bad as people on the outside looking in believe. Also, I stand with Savix as a Both Enjoyer. Classic, Retail, it's all WoW, man. Just have fun. :) Hope you get alpha soon, brother.

The thing with newcomer chat and all that stuff is that they dont reward shit for the vets helping out the newbies with any sort of stuff (ingame/ui/handling etc.) I'm also in newcomer chat to help out with questions as you also mentioned but there aint no real point of helping more else than beeing nice to another person

Yeah it's hard to find people that want to help even in classic nowadays I asked some people to help me run a number on my 50 paladin so I could get the best necklace and everyone was just being trolls oh ain't nobody going to help you nobody wants to help you nobody wants to give you the necklace blah blah blah but I did end up finding 9 giga chads and we got through it and got me the necklace and it was awesome everybody was awesome
