Common Sense I believe people often keep their watches in banks in case their houses are robbed. Considering that he is a rather high profile figure known for having an absurdly expensive watch collection, he may have a higher chance of being robbed. However, I don’t really know. I imagine the point is as follows: he doesn’t need to wear all of his watches all the time, so it is not a bad idea to keep them in a bank where they are undoubtedly safer.

Keeps em in the bank for insurance purposes. Love watches but that part kinda stinks for the high end stuff. Also a Buddy of mine had an expensive Rolex (40k). Fairly wealthy guy but having it and wearing it made him a bit nervous. Watches can be swiped or misplaced so easily. I've some peeps with ultra expensive cars. Same thing often. It creates a kind of anxiety worrying about every knick or scratch. Maybe uber wealth or uber confidence might eliminate those feelings. Interesting psychological side stuff.

Thank you for this video! It's so nice to see such extravagent watches and learn about the heritage behind them. I would love if you would be able to do a collaboration with Hodinkee and talk about your watch collection on there as well. Such a down to earth guy and I love watching your videos. Congratulations on all the success you've had in life and I look forward following in your footsteps. First step is of course completing my college education but once that is complete, I plan on hitting the ground running! I always dreamed of owning a Zenith, Vacheron Constantin, and Audemar Piguet and it so nice being able to look at your watches and see what they are like to wear!

I really like this guy he seems really humble in a genuine nice person to have a conversation with and says that he's quite fortunate to have the things that he has and it really is a big difference between the two rich people one that inherits money and one that earns the money

This was shot 3 years ago. The camera wasn't that great, these two fellas were way too formal when talking to each other. Also, Adam barely knew anything about watches :D Good ol days..

WOW, That's an incredible collection. I wouldn't have left the bank with that collection without 10-15 special forces agents guarding the precious cargo:). Thanks for showing.

As a fan of this channel and reading all of the comments regarding a house tour, I tried to find all that I can about Mr. Blakey. A quick Google search found him at 1690 Summitridge Drive. Now, I found current pictures of his house online which I cross referenced with the video and guarantee this to be his address; the stone on the fireplace, the view of the hills, and the table is all on the photos online and match this video. The street itself is okay to put it nicely, and the house is not what I expected someone of Michel's caliber to live in, but I assume that's why he's in the market for a new home. To be honest, without detracting anything, the house itself is very dated and is in need of an upgrade even by 'common-man' standards, but if he's comfortable in it then nothing's wrong with it. What surprises me most is that he mentioned he had several Rolls Royce's, a 458 Speciale, a Huracan, and a top spec Range Rover, yet that property only has a two car garage-I assume he rents garage space off site. In the past few months, the property [along with adjacent lots] got approval to build a massive 30,000 sqft 6-story home. In Beverly Hills there are restrictions as to the weight and overall structure that can be placed on a certain hill. Because his house is on a cul-de-sac, this would mean the home would be the only one of its kind on that hill. Estimates have the new development costs between 50-80 million and if completed, may have a home value of over 150 million. Given Michaels net worth of roughly 280 Million, I am unsure if he will finance this project; thus, the property is on the market for just over 6 million as is. Unsure if this comment will get deleted, but because I wanted to put a few things to rest I got this info for y'all. Okay, I need to get out there and make some money and not snope Google. In it to win it!

I won't pretend like I know, but I will say it sounds odd when you say the alligator strap can't get wet. I picture an actual alligator lamenting his swamp lifestyle. Oh, if I only I could go into the water. Why God, why??!!
@bighands695 жыл бұрын
Only Rubber and steel can go into water. Alligator straps are comfortable to wear but are not to be used in water.
@stephenjg88815 жыл бұрын
Yes they are treated with a chemical to make them durable and the chemical removes this particular waterproofing. Also most of them are coloured ie blue alligator or red etc so the painting of these skins ring the waterproofing additionally.
