You could also use the free vst synth named "Vital" it can create own wavetables and export them to a wav file you can directly load into the Microfreak. It even has a "Text to Speech" function so you can really let your microfreak talk like you want.

The Microfreak is an incredible value, I didn’t even know you could load custom wavetables onto it that intuitively. Making the wavetables on the other hand still looks very difficult. I hope more people keep buying the microfreak so Arturia will keep adding new content with firmware. As it is, it’s one of the most versatile synths you can get, with so many synthesis engines, the analog filter and extensive modulation.

wow never heard of chip synth md before. Ive been using serum and waveedit to import wavs, which sound great, but your approach of crafting each single cycle like this, really shows the care that if you put it in, you can really get out fantastic sounds with it. You really captured that megadrive sound, its really nice / amazing. I would definitely be interested in a set of modwave banks / patches. Very cool.

Such a useful vid, thanks Cuckoo! Quick Tip, the new Microfreak firmware lets you change the encoder speed to fast. You can still browse slowly while holding shift, but it makes things like browsing position of the wavetable faster/smoother since you don't have to reset your fingers. Cheers!

Hey Cuckoo, pips. You (if you read this :)) mention usb noise problem. I have it on my Subsequent 37 cv and Sub Phatty. Unplugged usb, no problems. Analog Four for example doesnt make an issue. Any solutions? I can use midi ins outs but prefer usb (multiple synths on the table etc). Thank you, very informative video. Cheers!
@truecuckoo Жыл бұрын
It’s the infamous USB ground loop noise. When a unit is connected with both USB to the computer, and analog audio to an interface that eventually ends up in the computer, a ground loop is created and noise will be nasty. This is typically the case on all slim devices with USB, because a ground loop noise isolator needs a bit of physical size to handle this. Most bigger devices has this on board, but not all. When recording analog I suggest you remove the USB cable. If it has to be connected, get a ground noise isolator. Like this for instance: teenage.engineering/store/ground-loop-noise-isolator/?affiliate=cuckoo

@@truecuckoo I figured it out. I have a USB hub that has its own power supply. When unplugged, connected only via USB, noise is there. All the mouse movement noise beauty. When power supply plugged in, no noises at all. Cheap hub in play. Cheers

@@Dolle_Man Ah, I thought you were asking for a keyboard suitable to manipulate physical models _in a synthesizer._ If you wanted _that,_ the newer MPE controllers (Roli Seaboard, Linnstrument, Sensel Morph, etc) would be good options. I was confused why you wanted to do that on an electric piano, but I see now that the Seven _also_ uses physical models. 😅 Have you checked out any comparison videos? There are several under ‘Crumar Seven vs Rhodes’ and ‘Crumar Seven vs Korg SV-2.’
@Dolle_Man3 жыл бұрын
@@crnkmnky Yes I did, I maybe I wasn't clear enough, if you look on my channel, you see in action with synthesisers. (microkorg, Deepmin12, Hydrasynth, VC-340, Deluge ect) The thing is, I love Rhodes/Wurlitzer sounds, and my goal now is to get a big synth with at least 73keys ( 6 octaves) The Crumar7 doest have many options, witch means focus on the play/technique rather pushing buttons like I Tend to do on my synths. A keyboard that has a big fun factor and sound amazing.. And indeed the SV-2 and Viscount '70 are competitors. SO far I've played the Crumar and the SV- 2. Black Friday is getting closer. So I need to make my decision quick haha
