My fiancé was luckily very open minded and supportive(I’m not implying her fiancé wasn’t supportive in saying that) of the really weird “wedding” I wanted. We rented a bunch of cabins on this beautiful lake in the mountains for all the people closest to us, and we spent 5 days just being together, having fun, talking, exploring, all the things that we felt like were starting our marriage off on the right foot. Our families became close during that time and it just really jumpstarted us feeling like one big happy family. Then on the last day we had a few more people come up and had a small ceremony right by the lake. It definitely isn’t the best plan for everyone, but it worked for us and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. Even our parents, who are much more traditional, ended up saying that they loved the idea once they actually saw and experienced what we had talked about. You can always renew your vows later in the marriage, and recreate/honor the best parts of your wedding while adding all the extra memories you wanted to make the first time around.

This should be mandatory. There are little lake cabin sites all over the country. Just do a Google search near your or for extremely memorable areas, I recommend Morraine Lake in Canada. Or any of the mountain states in the US. If you're in North America.

You guys can host a reception on your one year anniversary if it’s something you feel you lost out on. ❤️ my husband and I kept it simple and got married at the mosque and then took the witnesses out to lunch afterwards. For anyone who's wondering! Traditional Korean wedding (I mean, very, very traditional) takes usually up to 2-3 days. 대례De-Re: Husband visits the Bride's house to vow to the bride's parent then do the wedding, all the vow and everything(Gyo-be-Zi-Re교배지례). The wedding is a big event so all ppl in the village invited to celebrate. Its from day to night, they don't even stop partying even Groom and the Bride goes into their honeymoon room(Shn-Bang신방)😆 The next day, this newly couple will go around to meet the new relatives from bride's side. They mock and tease the newly couple, mostly to the groom (ex. how dare you take our precious (bride) away? You need to make up a poetry or you are not going anywhere! Kinda stuff, its called 동상례Dong-Sand-Re) Finally when they are all done? they go to the Groom's house. This is called 후례Hou-Re. So it was common in korean wedding to spend at lease 2 days in the Bride's house and finishes on the 3rd day. (There are more stuffs to do after going in to the groom's house, but im just explaining the wedding day process) Sadly in now days in South Korea do prefer modernized western version of wedding where it can be over super quickly and go straight to the honeymoon! I guess its a part of ...being efficient?? Yeah, I'm sad too. If anyone feel more curious about traditional Korean wedding, please Google it up and learn more! The dresses are so prewwtyyyy🥰🥰🥰

@@faegibb4043 yes cause the wedding hall they used was probably rented to like 10 more couples the same day. that's why everything moves fast so more rent money. also with 빨리빠리 culture, the guests don't have the time to sit through someone's wedding all day

Ceremony is always about 30mins, it’s the reception that goes for hours. She said they didn’t have a reception so it would have just been the formal/legal side of the wedding and not the party side
@IzzyKawaiichi
@IzzyKawaiichi Жыл бұрын
@@tracy4jester They don't really do receptions in Korea. I mean, some people probably do if they can afford it, but in general, if you get married in a Wedding Hall, it's a 30 minute ceremony, and then everyone just goes to the hall buffet where multiple wedding attendees are eating. It's not a reception like we would think of in the West. The bride and groom go around and thank the guests for coming, but there aren't speeches or dancing or anything like that.

Yes, most important is harmony between the two families to keep differences aside and bless the couple, 30 minutes are plenty! With costs so skyrocketing, sustainable options are the best! Spend that Xtra money on your new home or feed the poor and helpless.

I find it ridiculous complete with tux and white gown, walking the aisle, then when reaching the front, it's over. Just like a short parade. No marriage ceremony officiated by a priest for Catholics, or a pastor, no vows, no blessing of rings and putting on, etc. so for them, in 30 minutes it's DONE. 😏
