I remember going with a friend who bought a new Jeep at a "year-end" dealer clearance and he bought it for $18K. I know this is a "deluxe" edition with a V8 but wages have not increased 4-5x's since then like car & truck prices have. I thought "Free Trade" was supposed to bring prices down?

The XR has 4.56 gearing and is 4 seconds flat to 60 which is faster than the 3.73 geared ones to 60 which are 4.5 seconds. The XR also has a higher top speed limiter which is important if you’re actually going to the drag strip and running a quarter mile. The ones on 33’s are banging back and forth off the speed limiter before the end of the 1/4. Can be rectified with a tune but then you void your warranty. Also, why would anyone in their right mind pay $100k plus for one of these when you can buy a used one with low miles in the $60’s?

This…is why Stellantis is in trouble. The few people who may want a Hemi Wrangler could easily buy one of the many conversions available in the aftermarket, meanwhile Stellantis spends precious development money on this while neglecting the most competitive market - an affordable small SUV.
