No it really is not overkill to have a draftshield on a two decimal place balance (aka 0.01g readability). The MyWeigh i201 comes with the draftshield so why not use it? Most manufacturers don't include a draftshield on their 0.01g balances since they want to control costs. Companies like A&D Weighing have an optional draftshield for their 0.01g balances like the Fxi and GF Series. Sartorius has a CPA2202S with no draftshield but you can buy the CPA2202S-DS that has a draftshield.
