The horrible localization of Kh3 annoys me. The english version donwplays Soriku in every scene. And on top of that they also shoved Sokai in there as romantic, while it was way more platonic in japanese. Ugh... - Sora gets teased about him thinking Yozora (who looks like Riku) is good looking - Riku believes in Sora when he breaks down in the KG. He says "Sora, I believe in you. You won't give up!" - the paopu fruit was supposed to be a good luck charm - Sora tells Kairi that he thinks she's strong (tunnel scene). He says "You're strong, Kairi." or something like that instead of "I feel strong with you." - Sora thinks that Riku pushed him away because he cherishes him (in Arendelle) - Riku practically saying that Sora is his precious person (the same phrase was used by Herc to describe Meg, yet translated different) I can't describe how angry those mistranslations make me.

i agree but ive also found out that a lot of the sokai in english is actually missing/played up from the original japanese. for example: 'i just wanna be part of your life from now on, thats all' vs 'its a good luck charm, so we dont get separated again', soras line about them being 'together' at the end of kh3 really being more like him saying the trio deserved to be together and finally back home, sora saying 'you make me strong, kairi' vs 'you really are strong now, kairi', when mx kills kairi sora says 'why her' in english but just 'why' in japanese and im sure theres more but yeah if youve watched my soriku compilation, youll see that they did very similiar things to the localization of com/re:com- and it was arguably worse for that game bc the implication that soras precious person is riku is buried deep under subtext, whereas in japanese it was still subtext but waaaaay more apparent (its a pronoun thing)

@@mikotoh Yeah, exactly! The Soriku censorship is mostly on the localization side, the OG japanese is waaaay more direct with the romantic Soriku implications. I man, "aitsu"???? *Aitsu*????? Taisetsu no hito?????? C'mon. Correct me if I'm wrong, but iirc, wasn't it acknowledged by Riku that at some point, his feelings for Sora started to morph unintentionally before he could realize it, leaving him at somewhat of a lost/confused in a side material or other (probs from CoM or KHII, that sounds totally like a CoM/KHII Riku thing, being all angsty about his own homosexuality)? And didn't Sora compare Anna and Elsa's love to that between him and Riku, only for Sora himself showing uncertainty on wether it's actually the same situation? I don't know about you, but that OOC moment of serious doubtfulness coupled with the reiteration through KH3 & related material that while Sora can recognize love, he doesn't understand it nor knows how to differentiate between the various types of love yet, I read that as Sora having realized that while his connection with Riku is most certainly love, he also realized that their love is different than that between the Arendelle sisters, albeit he doesn't understand *why* nor *what type of love* it is yet. Although, judging for a cursory glance at your other videos, I'm pretty sure you most certainly read that last scene that way, too. Rn about that line Sora says, I'm wondering if it's just cuz Kairi was the one in trouble, or is it partially due to the incredibly suspicious "6 hearts no sacrifice" that remind kindly threw to our face, I'm so so curious what that will end up meaning

@Fannintendociccio12 жыл бұрын
@@mikotoh oh I guess you don't know bout the 6 hearts no sacrifice thingie? It's one of the most out there thing kh3 and remind have, right next to how in this scene of Sora talking about Kairi and not Riku in this very video, you can see hidden out of frame Riku clenching his fists™ twice in a row, that detail alone is honestly the most gay confirmation about Riku in the series since it's so deliberate and so well hidden, Nomura really expects us to be THAT meticulous. Anyway, bout the 6 hearts no sacrifice thing. Kh3 had very lightly implied in a lot of places how Sora had completely forgotten about Riku's sacrifice almost immediately after he arrives in the final world. The biggest red flag of this, which is doubled down in the novel, is that he cannot remember who told him "you won't give up" while he is telling that to nameless star. He gets reminded of aqua, and I think Kairi too, but in game he says "someone said that to him", and the novel shows his confusion and frustration at trying to remember who told him that and not managing to. Right after that, almost as to rectify the sacrifice Riku did being forgotten, Sora retwinesses it again before he can start saving the 7 hearts that have fallen (with the exception of Kairi which is an even bigger unrelated mystery that I can write to you after if you wanna) starting with Riku in Olympus, after Riku guides him under the shape of the light in the darkness, we can even hear it "speak" back to Sora when Sora calls out to it yelling for Riku's name. However, by the time Sora has saved all 7 hearts and meets with Kairi, they are back in the tunnel scene, and the light in the darkness seem to be still Riku guiding both Sora and kairi back to the graveyard, and Sora seem to confuse Kairi with the light in the darkness. The light "talks" to Sora again in the same way as before, and shows him vision of the other 2 Disney true love sacrifices of kh3, but Sora is confused by them, as both novel and game show, he doesn't have the context to properly understand them since he has forgotten Riku sacrificed himself before. This was already worrying in base kh3, but remind was absolutely direct about this. Not only the remind portion of Sora jumping from guardian to guardian and after was super suspicious because it reused every scene we had already watched in base kh3 even to a annoyingly boring degree, one of the few, maybe the sole exception is the sacrifice that gets completely skipped, while the base game considered it so crucial it showed twice in very close timeframes, yet here where it's actually important since it's where the tear in the fabric of time happened Sora just.... Seem to go unconscious while standing upright right where it was going to happen somehow, and wakes up after the fact. The true kicker is right before remind happens, Sora says to chirithy while convincing him he can go save Kairi: "I already saved 6 hearts! What's one more?" It's so interesting how such a basic and extremely precise detail is so easily missable. Sora saved 7 hearts. Yet one of them, Riku's, gets completely forgotten. Heck, kh3 starts with a voice in the dive to the heart telling kh1 Sora "there are 7 hearts to save."!! So, yeah, there is something huge going on in the background of kh3 and remind and somehow Sora is repressing the memory of Riku dying for Sora's sake, and hence having the need to be saved at all, so Sora remembers only saving 6 hearts. Alongside with whatever was also going on with Kairi, she is another enigma on its own in kh3 (Btw I answered with more union cross Soriku infor in the other comment thread)

@@mikotoh a few more things on the matter, first off, the fact that kh3 remind is called remind at all, yet Sora never actually remembers anything he had forgotten by going through it, the sacrifice mainly. And also, the Limit Cut episode only explanation I can think of is because remind gave a limit for every graveyard battle, except one for Sora and Riku by themselves for some reason vs replitwo and xigbar. Also, another of the hints to Riku dying being scrubbed off happens literally when Sora arrives in the final world. The intro cutscene of the final world title card is literally a representation of Riku's sacrifice, but Riku is missing. You can see him walking and leaving puddles in the water, and the explosion when Riku is parrying the blast, I've seen a gif comparing the two and are super close, even in sound effects I think. A major theory on this btw at the moment is, unless there is some exterior manipulation, probably Sora blocking out the memory of the sacrifice as it's way too painful for him and risking to break his heart if not repressed, as foreshadowed in recoded various times. People have been thinking that this Sora's memories of Riku may even be what ended up in yozora changing him into a Riku lookalike, like Xion was a Kairi lookalike for having Sora's memories of kairi. Ye I get it (and honestly I didn't even notice the number discrepancy on my own, I didn't even register it) but Sora definitely is referring to Kairi as indipendent to the 7 hearts he saved from the lych, since he hasn't restored her heart at all at this point yet. Speaking of kairi's heart, this is the other big mystery under everyone's noses in kh3, and remind gives more direct confirmations about it too. This mystery is slightly tied to the big sleeping realm theory that was made after kh3 released, but it's also a separate mystery on its own. Kairi's heart, Kairi herself, seem to be absent and MIA over the course of the game, at the very least it is in the graveyard stuff. Let me set you the scene. Everyone reaches the graveyard. Kairi gets attacked by terranort and has a panic attack since he is her abuser, Sora hugs her for some reason, but they make it out fine. Until everyone is killed.... Kairi included, as far as we know, as Sora even worries about not having found kairi's heart after saving the seven hearts. Yet, she is just.... There.... In the middle of the tunnel scene. Waiting for Sora and bringing him to the others.... Until she then later gets crystallized by xehanort and stuff. Base kh3 merely gave fans the possibility that kairi may have ended up in Sora's heart again because of various interesting parallels to kh1, replitwo quoting kh1 ansem-riku in San fransokyo, Sora hugging Kairi to protect her, the fact that the princesses of heart are apparently keeping Sora together, when Anna gets hurt Sora feels it like when Kairi and ventus are summoned by ansem Riku in kh1 and vanitas in monster Inc. But remind came to make it absolutely clear kairi is missing until she is saved at the end of remind. If the Kairi in the tunnel is normal Kairi.... Remind brings up how Naminé has not yet been able to return to Kairi. Sora asks if very deliberately. Something IS WRONG. When Kairi is crystallized and explodes, the camera focuses on Sora's chest and we hear a heartbeat, mirroring when ventus started puppeteering Sora into volunteering to save aqua before. And when going around to gather the crystal petals, Sora sees Kairi guiding him around scala, Just like he could see Kairi in kh1 while she was in his heart. And that's not counting even more visual parallels to kh1 like remind Sora trying to catch ventus like he did in kh1 with Kairi. The crystal flower thing complete, which BTW it's another huge mystery. Sora feels kairi's heart from it.... But It's not her heart. We know how that looks like. And it later appears in khmom with no real explanation???? It will hopefully be cleared what it is, alongside the gayblade hopefully, but it basically act like the items in Kh2 to create new connections to new worlds, since it has the same animation. Right after Kairi is back for real (and Naminé returns now to her), not much time after that, Sora starts to disappear. If all of what remind was hinting is correct, all this time her real heart had been inside Sora keeping him together with the power of the princesses, and now Sora's time is ticking down. The real question is "when did kairi's heart go in Sora again and who's the kairi we see running around then?", Those ones are answered in the sleeping realm theory thingie, which goes to explain a whole other bunch of weird stuff kh3 has hidden around, though I will say it's less definitive and concrete compared to what remind added for Riku's sacrifice and kairi's heart whereabouts. if the sleeping realm theory is wrong, then we definitely don't know that yet lol. Even if chirithy in remind does mention that Sora re-experienced and went back in time twice already and not just once at the start of remind, that's probably the most concrete thing. (Basically,the kh3 we play is like the second or more than second attempt to beat the prophecy, which was only able to happen with Riku's sacrifice and the tear in time. It's a bit too complex to summarize, but if you search sleeping realm theory you should find it in video form) Another hint is that chirithy says no one arrived to the final world with Sora.... Even if Naminé should have arrived with him. Seems like she has been there for a long while.
