Most ebikes have a sensor down on the cranks/pedals for the pedal assist, and when they start to spin forward, it will engage the motor. Normally when you walk a bike, the cranks/pedals are still and don't move, but for some reason on this bike, you can see that they start to spin, as seen @18:22 @33:24. This usually shouldn't happen. I've had this happen before years ago on some of my BMX bikes. Could be a variety of different things causing it, such as it just being new and having to wear in, or the chain being too loose, or too tight, or the chain being too greased/lubed up and causing it to stick slightly to the derailleur, or the cassette/freewheel on the rear wheel. Couple of ways to keep the bike from taking off, is to just have the pedal assist level on 0, and then when you're ready to ride, switch it into any of the 1-5 levels. Or, when walking the bike, just make sure you have one hand on any of the brake levers, so that if the bike starts to take off by accident, you can quickly pull it (most ebikes have motor cutoff cables on the brake levers so that the motor instantly cuts off when pulled). Also, not sure about this bike, but on some, you can leave the bike in pedal assist mode 0, so that there's no assist at all, but the throttle will still work. Have fun and safe riding! :)

The thing about most e-bikes. You need to either hold the brake or turn the power level down to zero before you get off. They can be pretty dangerous if you hit the throttle while your feet are on the ground.

If carrying a coffee on a bike (or in a supermarket buggy, bring an insulated cup with a lid that seals! Voice of spilled coffee. It also keeps the coffee from cooling off.

Ask the company of the bike to give you a cup holder that you can use for water, coffee, etc. In fact have a double cup holder to the front by the handlebars. VidVulture has a scooter similar to that and uses a special bag in the back to deliver Uber Eats, maybe that is something (a bag that is insulated for the back) that you could use to get groceries, etc.

Tell the people at Vitilan to put a pressure sensor switch under the seat so a body has to be seated on it before it will go. Then you absolutely cant have the issue you and Sammie had with it taking off by itself.😁

No bike should have this behavior as it's clearly unsafe and can damage the bike and other property or hurt others. Either the freewheel is defective on this bike or the computer needs to be better programmed to only engage with continued torque applied on the crank. Walking the bike should never cause it to run away from you, period.

When you are walking the bike, i noticed the pedals are moving as if someone is pedaling. Does that mean the hub motor / hub cassette doesn't have a freewheel? The pedals shouldn't move when you are just walking the bike forward. With the pedals moving, the cadence sensor kicked in and the bike takes off if in one of the PAS levels. If it was in a higher PAS level it could really be a runaway bike going really fast. What does Vitilan say about this?
