Speaking from experience kids are expensive but my household income is only a $100K with both of us working and we live a comfortable life. My guess is there’s something else going on. I was admittedly not ready for kids when my son was born but he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

I think a real heart to heart conversation needs to be had, even if by way of therapy. Did she change her mind about having kids (if ever she did want to have any)? Maybe hearing friends complain about how different their little ones have made their lives/marriage has changed her perspective on having a child of her own. Maybe meeting up with a finacincial advisor to show graphs and such that chart how children do change the financial trajectory of your income but how you can plan for that and readjust the numbers to accommodate for kids and still be financially successful. I hope and pray the best for this couple.

Ive had hyper morning sickness with alot of my pregnancies. pregnancy and labor are not easy. throw in c sections which is major surgery. there is alot to worry about. then even finding childcare after when everything is already booked in some areas.
