The wife trashes the apartment, leaves the baby unattended and assaults her husband and she gets joint custody???????? This must take place in California. To many holes in your story.

Could be any number of states in the American South. A lot of the Good Ol' Boy judges are of the mind that women are ALWAYS good mothers, so they grudgingly give the husband custody.

she didn't keep the custody long. the wife eventually took her own life, likely from a combination of ppd and guilt over letting her marriage be ruined by her "friend." the husband later denied said "friend" from speaking at his wife's funeral, blaming her for his wife's suicide.

Zero accountability. Blaming everything but her own choices: choice of friend, hormones, her toxic friend, health problems blah blah blah.

The mother is violent and mentally unstable and she still gets 50/50. What a joke. Atleast this is better than the full story where the mom ends herself and the parents want the friend to speak at the funeral.

I find myself wondering if the "friend" ran off giggling, knowing she'd destroyed a marriage, and went looking for a new one to kill, since she's clearly too toxic to have anyone in HER life.

Post-partum depression is real. The stress of a newborn is real. Leaving the child alone is unforgivable. She should have been charged with assault and domestic violence for breaking his nose.

Most women have at least one close friend always trying to poison the well. Either because she's jealous of what she doesn't have or because they simply thrive on chaos.

She was always the same woman before, and after, she was just able to hide it better before. And it's ironic. If the rolls were reversed, he would have been in jail, and it never got anything, but yeah, supervised visitations.

The problem with this story is that she assaults her husband, and leaves the baby alone. I would worry about the child. She should have been charged with assault, and lose child custody.

My wife gave birth to our children in horrible conditions in Communist Poland. I couldn't visit her in hospital. I saw my son three days after his birth when my wife was released. She was completely alone there. She went through this all with an absolute joy of becoming a mother.

Thought I'd heard this before, but in the end the wife ended herself and Jessie wanted to speak at the funeral. The wife's mother even agreed, but the husband wad adamant she wasn't welcome. I think that was the last update.

If I'm correct, this is a variation on an actual reddit story (at least one of the other stories on this channel I know for a fact is a variation on a reddit story as I know the actual story fairly well). This one has a "happier" ending than the actual story in which the mother did NOT get joint custody and asked to have some alone with the baby that night. The father did not allow it, which was probably for the best since she ended herself that night. The wife's friend was allowed to help plan her funeral alongside the father because the mother's parents didn't believe the friend actually had a hand in the events that had played out.

One man called a radio show and said he told the court that his wife kneed him in the groin and then broke his nose. He said most people lsughed and even the judge had trouble keeping a straight face, His wife faced no consequences and was given custody of the children and he paid child support and almony.

Postpartum depression is a real thing. The husband should have been made awear of what to look for and goten professionals help and not just for him. Perhaps they could have saved this marriage. She needs to cut that "friend" out of her life completely. And no im not saying what she did was justified or warranted or the courst ruling that was utterly ridiculous.

To be fair a lot of these problems are because of charlie. Every guy in history who got cheated on has the same excuse: "I worked long hours to make more money for the family"... But no family in the history of all families, ever thanked their father for the money he provided... They care about the time spent with the family, not the money. The money is meaningless the time is everything. If you can't find a balance, then you need to find a different career. His wife was in desperate need, she had emotional issues, and he could see it several times and ignored them over and over again. His wife needed therapy, his wife needed support and he was busy with projects at work... It wasn't his own business either, so he had bosses to report to. He could have gone to them and asked for help. This guy's ego made this happen

This is a redone version of a reddit story with things altered minimally. In the end the mom died in a car accident hitting a tree and the friend who caused all this was a "childhood" friend and against the husbands wishes the inlaws let her read at the wifes funeral. They have done this with a few others

A sad story, but unfortunately it does happen. Post-partum depression is real, as others have commented, and can be absolutely devastating for some people. Couples therapy should have come into play. However, as others have noted, the mother trashing the house and then assaulting the husband should have won him sole custody, unless he had the world's worst attorney, or, as others noted, they lived in California, or possibly New York. there is no way I would have turned that child over tot he mother, even if I had to flee with the child.

"Our personal failures." Our? Where exactly is the word our appropriate anywhere in this story? The poor husband had NOTHING to do with this! PPD, which I must point out she knew she as suffering from, is a serious condition. But it requires professional help and not listening to your psycho friend. In no way does violently assaulting your spouse and causing actual harm ever become justifiable. In fact, she really should have been charged with aggravated assault. At the very least that would have forced her into a proper treatment program.

Ha! You forgot to blame the weather. No wait it’s a Monday right. Lady why not take some accountability. No one place a gun to your head and told you to abandon your child for I don’t know how long. The husband should have had full custody. I mean right from the get go she didn’t want to be a mother. So why did she want custody? This doesn’t make sense. The judge and lawyers should be fired

Story started off well, but it just started veering off into the absurd. I can't see how any court would give a mother custody after the violence, the depression and the child abandonment. Please try and ground these a little more, because this is one of the better story channels and I'm hoping you don't fall into the same recycled traps the other ones do.

So - they both recognize she has post-partum depression, but NEITHER mentions the obvious step of HER getting THERAPY and Professional Help! I'm sorry, but the husband is a complete moron if HE thinks HE needs therapy but doesn't recognize his WIFE should have been in therapy from about day 3 after the baby was born. I realize young couples don't always understand the need for therapy - my wife and I failed to see the signs and she suffered for 3 months while I blithely "carried on" as the clueless husband. But when you think YOU need therapy but fail to think your wife does, I'm not sure what that says about you. And what about the therapist? Didn't they ever say "Your wife sounds like she could benefit from therapy?" during one of the sessions? WAY too many holes....stopped listening.

Dear me. I expect the gloating incel misogynists to turn up soon. However. When someone is so mentally ill they pose a danger to themselves or others, that's what psychiatric care is for. But you know - "in sickness and in health". This is not what divorce is for. But yanks - rush to legal action at the drop of a hat.
@chrisjohnson1312
@chrisjohnson1312 2 ай бұрын
if this was a real story, and the woman had 8 months to make amends, I think she could have salvaged it and had a reconciliation. It was poorly written and vague once the confrontation happened. I agree with you that something like this SHOULD not lead to divorce. Most of these stories involve infidelity. This was manipulation after a suspected post-partum depression scenario. A classic phrase comes to mind here: "Single women keep other women single". Fake story or not, I cannot count the number of times I have seen or heard about supposed best or close female friends poisoning the well of a successful relationship. It's not just us "Yanks", and by the way, "no fault divorce" is one of the worst things to happen to marriage.

Gloating incel misogynists?? What has that to do with anything? You have clearly never lived with someone who has violent mental health problems. I did, for eight years. And let me tell you, no child should ever be left alone with such a person. The control of medication is always in their hands, that makes them potentially volatile and very dangerous. The safest thing to have done was to give full custody to the father and allowed her supervised visits only. I'm sure that no sane judge would have given 50/50 custody under those circumstances.
