Nice to see a lady’s bag. I’m much older than you two so my bag has evolved to fit my needs. Great video, Thanks! Had to add....I’m a female, Vietnam era vet.

Don't forget to throw a few cotton cigars in there for your wife. I got some major points for thinking of that when I put my wife's car bag together!! LOL

Saved this to reference when I go back to my wife's bag. I think you've got one of the better thought-out bags I've seen and you've avoided "gadget-syndrome" well. Most don't focus on the basics: water, food, shelter, then everything else. I do think a multitool makes sense for this bag, recommend a Leatherman Juice to keep the weight down. Maybe a bit more cordage as that looks rather light, but really, just a superbly done bag. Many could learn from this one, including me.

Good points. At 65 years and 145#, I'm not carrying as much as I used to when I was in the Marines. Imagine that.

Well done, your selection of gear covers needs, not wants and is light in weight, easy to carry. Your thoughtfulness will be appreciated by Wife for sure. I pack a small box of tampons for several reasons. I could be a hero to a "damsel in distress." You also have a nice little pre-filter for cloudy water and some additional fire stating material. When another guy questions why I do this, my simple answer is, these things could be a "blow-out patch" for a deep wound.

Love bag videos. I actually was wanting some other opinions on a get home bag for my wife. She's a small framed lightweight too. Looks like we have the same ideas on what to pack for our ladies. Thanks for the video!

Tip: Anything thats “Life sustaining” put a lanyard on it and have it ready to be worn immediately and never leave your body. IE.. Sawyer water filter, multi tool, lighter, flashlight, knife, whistle, etc. that way it can’t be left behind, and it’s kept warm.. ie water filter so it doesn’t freeze. Also spend the money for good socks!! Last, being a woman, anything that keeps her motivated. (Sweets, caffeine, extra warm layer as in an ultra compact layering jacket. Addendum: Being worn doesn’t necessarily mean around the neck, attached inside jacket pockets or to belt loops work as well. Lol… I keep looking at your stuff…. Last suggestion… make sure all batteries are lithium, they do not leak, ruining your equipment. Their also lighter and have a long shelf life. I didn’t see a map/navigation aids or self defense tools if needed… gun, bear spray, etc. I know I said a lot, I apologize, being for a woman/wife/mother/daughter, I really stress about their comfort/ safety. 🇺🇸

if your looking for better weight i would replace the canteen and cup and filter with a Katadyn BeFree and TOAKS Titanium pot, recommend replacing the "change of clothes" with a base layer. replace flashlight and glowsticks with headlamp and batteries. replace mre with trail mix/peanutbutter. select 1 bivy (prefer escape style) change the "cap" to a balaclava. and change the backpack bladdar for a Platypus Platy Bottle. and find a multi purpose item to use as a flag. this may be enough weight to include a sleeping pad.

Weight is a factor, getting stuck is another. For a day hike plan for 2 full days, 3 days plan for 5. clothes should be frumpy, leggings and botty shorts are for around the house. Any clothing that MELTS should stay away from fire mile or so. Think the worse than plan for it, animal attack, fire, medical where one can't move (go for help/leaving the other) carry someone out and how, oh yea that piece of junk that you rely on is broken, lost, no bars.

This set has *ZERO* redundancy for core elements such as knife, flashlight etc. also you have no antibiotics. This is not a bag I want to have in emergency. Better than nothing but nah... Also that mylar bivy is a terrible place to be in any situation. It's condensates in the mater of minutes.
@PreparedAirman3 ай бұрын
The bag is very different now. The video is over 4 years old. Can't say I've ever seen any antibiotics in a get home bag. But I guess if you can afford to change them out every couple of months, then send it.
