The story would have been much better with the voice of the wife. Did she sleep with John Clayton? Did she murder him? If so, why? The husband put his head in the sand not willing to know. How can the marriage survive lack of trust? Isn't better to come clean, forgive and move on based on what happened? Maybe I got the sequence of events wrong. But it sounds like she screwed him before she ever brought it up with her husband and was trying to get some kind of absolution/permission after the fact. She cried when he was so negative. When the husband laid out the used lingerie on the counter, she left to go stay with her mother, taking the Ruger with her. Maybe she had a realization that since her husband was onto her, the only way to cover up her infidelity with a man who boasts about his conquests and have any kind of plausible deniability, was to silence the man permanently?
