I watched this show because of my mom. She was watching this episode in the living room and I sat down next to her and asked what she was watching. Watched the finale and I was asking questions on how all these characters knew each other. Immediately binged the entire show up until this point. The start of season 5 my mom and I watched every single episode together every Sunday night. Memories man💙

The Hershel flashbacks was to show the birth of Farmer Rick (as fans called him) The rest of the episode was showing the death of Farmer Rick and the rebirth of the Warrior.

Fun fact. In the scene where daryl tells Rick to clean his beard. Actor Norman reedus was supposed to add water to the rag for the scene but he didn't wet the Rag to mess with Andrew (rick). The two were I'm a prank war on set. When rick had to climb out the house the claimers broke into Norman was mooning and Andrew behind the scenes while climbing down

Rick brought out his savage with that Claimer group when he bit Joe’s throat you don’t mess with his boy I love the scene where he and Daryl are talking about all that happened afterwards and Rick told him you’re my brother.

Fun Fact: When Rick was cleaning the blood from his face the rag got stuck on the blood around his mouth and pulled out clumps of his beard. Andrew Lincoln is such a good actor that he carried on through the pain to finish the scene without reshoots.

Savage Rick is everything. I definitely fell a little in love with Rick after he bit Joe neck 😍🥰🤣 My interpretation of the flashbacks were to show the full circle transformation, not just for Rick but also for Carl. Rick was becoming a farmer to reel Carl back in from losing himself. But, Rick basically had to lose himself to save Carl. In the end, the aren’t able to save themselves as this world will only allow them to be monsters to survive. Does anyone else have a different take or better explanation? 😂 I love Eugene! They are living a horror and his cowardly and weird behavior is definitely comedic relief. So excited for season 5!

Murder jacket Rick is unstoppable! When anyones kids are involved, i think any parent would be savage, but Rick always goes that extra step to be more savage. I cheered when i first saw him bite Joe's neck. But then Carl watched him gut the molester, and then keep stabbing him over and over. Imagine being Carl.

Rick’s arc this season has been amazing It’s all been about him trying to suppress the brutality within himself in order to steer Carl down the right path That’s why he stepped down as leader and threw all his energy into farming He even stopped carrying his gun on him And then everything he’s built starts to unravel The prison falls and Rick sees that Carl never will be the kid he wants him to be And then the ultimate realization that Rick has failed to protect his son from the brutality of the world he’s forced to rip a mans throat out with his teeth to stop Carl being raped Incredible writing.

I spent months trolling the internet for season 5 spoilers! Some people actually camped outside TWD studio compound in Georgia hoping to see something! Comic Comparisons : First the scene with Joe and the Claimers runs a bit different in the comics Daryl isn’t there because he doesn’t exist in the comics Rick Abraham (instead of Michonne) and Carl are ambushed by three random bandits It’s heavily implied that they’re gonna rape Carl to the point they take off most of Carl’s clothes save for his undergarments The rest of the scene goes as in the show Rick rips one of their throats out with his teeth Abraham kills the other and Rick brutality kills the one who was going to rape Carl Undoubtedly the most skin crawling scene in all of TWD. Second : Terminus doesn’t exist in the comics but the concept of the people do Rick’s line in the comics is They’re fucking with the wrong people but because it’s on TV they had to censor it you can hear Rick say that line on the Blu Ray DVD which features the uncensored version of the Season 4 finale.

Watched it once when the shows originally aired. I know the major plot points like the prison, terminus, etc. But there’s a ton of little details and storylines in between each of those that I’ve completely forgotten. Not a blind watch. But damn near haha
