Then there is the Conduit games along with Black Ops. Not only were multiple control methods allowed with Conduit 2 onwards, but they let you customize the motion controls so much! It honestly was insane the level of customization both Conduit 2 and Black Ops provided to players.

I know he mentions the Conduit games being generic (The Conduit definitely fits that bill,) but Conduit 2 is honestly something special in my opinion. I am glad I got it again in my collection as it shows just how much the developer grew from the first game. It is just an overall fun FPS on the Wii and is really fun to play with multiple people. The story itself isn't anything special, but the way it isn't taken seriously just makes it better in my opinion. Also the weapon variety is great fun. What is really awesome is that fans of the game got its servers up and running. Every Sunday they get together and play Conduit 2. I highly recommend getting it.

If I had to rank games on the Wii, I'd put them in this order: 15. Mario Kart Wii (not a huge racing game guy) 14. Fragile Dreams Remnants of The Moon (I love the atmosphere of this JRPG. It has so much detail and is one of the most unforgettable titles on the system, even if it's combat is a bit meh.) 13. The Last Story (The opposite of Fragile Dreams. Combat can be great, and story has its great moments, but the world itself isn't anything unique for me. Still a great game though and has its moments that I love.) 12. Muramasa The Demon Blade 11. 007 Goldeneye 10. Red Steel 2 (great combat system and very smart art direction. Needs a sequel.) 9. No More Heroes 8. Conduit 2 (A very solid shooter that completely blows the first game out of the water in every department. I use to think it was just okay, but as I got older I had to put Conduit 2 higher on my list. It is so fun to replay and it absolutely needs to get a sequel on Switch. Here's hoping that Conduit 3 is the AAA project that High Voltage Software is working on next.) 7. Kirby's Epic Yarn (such a pleasure to play) 6. Super Smash Bros Brawl (tons of replayability and is the game that got me into competitive fighting games.) 5. Donkey Kong Country Returns (easily the best 2D platformer of its generation) 4. Xenoblade Chronicles (best JRPG of its generation, and it's influence can be seen in recent games in the genre.) 3. Skyward Sword (one of the most beautiful Zelda games, with a fantastic world to explore even if it is linear. I just love how this game started to really enforce lore into the series.) 2. Metroid Prime 3 (My personal favorite Metroid Prime game. The environments, creature design, and world building just really makes Prime 3 something special to behold. It really was a fantastic game to end the original trilogy. It is honestly crazy how well the graphical presentation of this game holds up to this day.) 1. Super Mario Galaxy (Easily my favorite platformer of all time. It holds up well to this day and has something special to it that I just can't explain.) (Bonus game) I actually would put this at number 1, but am not sure if it's fair to count 2 Zelda games in the same list especially when one of them is also on Gamecube. That game is Twilight Princess. There is so much to talk about with this game, but I have no idea where to even begin. It has my favorite combat system in the series, has my favorite story to any Zelda game as it feels like the threat requires more than just a hero to defeat (hell there is even a group of heroes that help Link throughout the game in actually great ways,) has my favorite dungeon designs, and has its own unique lore that I am still discovering stuff from to this day. There's a reason why it is tied with my favorite game of all time, and I would most certainly say it is my favorite Wii game ever made.

1 of my favourite implementations of wii controls was in pro evolution soccer (can’t remember which year). What that game did was allowed you more control of your team than probably any other soccer game I’ve played before or since. 1 of the best things was you could grab a player who didn’t have the ball, point to where he should run to and the player with the ball would try to pass to that location. In other games you have a “through ball” option, but the system decides where that to aim the ball and possibly even which player is the target.

4:10 i can confirm that, it was the last gen when devs, japanese especially, were still trying something new. Now it's all derivative and copypasta of other games
@MrMario9953 жыл бұрын
Definitely so with AAA studios, but there's plenty of unique titles by indie developers out there still! Just gotta look through the rough.

That's a little harsh Butch. I will say AAA titles are reviewed differently than Indie. Punished for not being cutting edge when Indie titles (copy/paste/twist) are rewarded for being ordinary. Everyone trying to be edgy is the definition of square.

Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom is a great game, that I surprisingly didn't see showcased in this video. Dead Rising: Chop Till you Drop is also an interesting way to experience the story of the original Dead Rising, with the gameplay style of RE4. Okami on Wii has an interesting story about the box art being ripped from IGN, to the point where you can see a IGN watermark on the art. Finally, Rodea the Sky Soldier has a physical Wii disc included in the Wii U copy of the game, with a reversible cover art that is the Wii box art, as well as 2 separate manuals, one for each version.

My 5 year old son has got me back into the Wii. He discovered Wii Sports/Resort at his cousins and came home excited that we had a Wii. So have started collecting again for it and really enjoying it.

I remember finding Counter Force in my local Toys R Us when I was around 8-10 years old (it’s hazy), and *begging* my mom to let me have it. At the time, I wanted almost any game I saw which had a cool-looking robot on the cover. Also, I remember being incredibly disappointed when I got home and realized it was NOT a 3D action game like I had hoped, but a rail-shooter.

About three years ago I started going hard in collecting Gamecube games I missed, then 3DS, then PS3 and Vita, I'm presently working on Wii so this video is very timely for me. The Wii is so fun to collect for given how crazy cheap most of the games are and there's lots of fun to be had.

Wii is all about homebrew for me. Loading up a ton of Wii and GameCube ISO’s on an external hard drive is some of the most fun you can have on a CRT TV. Retro stuff, virtual console, so many import games, a few good Wii games, there is a ton of stuff it can play.

There is also a complete Star Wars Rogue Squadron Trilogy for the Wii, sitting in a vault at Skywalker Ranch. It was finished & ready to go, but LucasArts pulled it (I think it was around the time of the Disney-buyout). So frustrating that it was never released, and even more frustrating that they can't just dust it off, upscale the textures, and release on modern systems. Those Rogue Squadron handed were such fun.
