In the ShB dungeon The Twinning have 3 books. Second them read like this: Ironworks Datalog 3.5: Our research into the Emperor's Throne is almost complete, as we now understand the methods used to open a doorway to the World of Darkness, otherwise known as the Thirteenth. However, this is only the beginning of our plan. Even if we find a way to the First, it is already too late to prevent the Eighth Umbral Calamity. For that, we must travel not only to another world, but to another time. Thankfully, the datalogs gathered over the years, detailing battles with various primals, pointed us in the right direction. What I think is foreshadowing why we in first place need Thirteenth.

Ye know it would be funny if some Empire from another Shard came over, trying to conquer Ilsabard, but getting mysteriously wiped out quickly. Then we'd find out that part of World Map is clouded for a reason that is not laziness after all

You're right. It's the confidence that FF14 have earned that separates from any other story based games. Before I have played FF16, I was a bit worried to hear Dawntrail will act like the restart of the story. Much like how ARR did to lay the foundation. I've thought to myself I don't want to go thru another fetch quests involving wine again. But after playing FF16, the same team that brought FF14 was able to bring not only a compelling story but also laid a foundation while making us invested into character within 2hours of the game. Knowing this, I can only imagine what they will do with Dawntrail. I am massively hype for the launch trailer of this.

Now we have the ability of space travel with ragnarok, and there are the unaccounted-for Asians that might be on other shards and not knowing what happened to zodiark perhaps. (Maybe without zodiark or the unsundered Asians they can’t shard-hop anymore.) What is really like to see is some kind of zoom into the future, like when Noctis gets frozen and then wakes up years later with his friends and world having moved on without him. It would be similar to how 1.0 characters were suddenly zapped five years into the future to ARR, with no one remembering them clearly. The lack of “time passing” from 2.0-6.0 bothers me, and I think most FF games have a stark division point where the world map substantially changes partway through. (Before/after meteor in FF7, the World of Ruin in FF6, for example.)

I feel like FF14's long game has historically been less of a "setting up dominoes to fall later" and more of a "We built this structure a while back but never did anything with it so what can we do with it now that would be really cool?"

Great Video, subbed! My mindset is similar to your theories. There's definitely an air of something Otherworld happening with DT given Solution 9, and Heritage Found just by their looks and names. My mind goes to a "Rift" was opened or will be opened and something not too friendly will be coming to invade running away from some Calamity that's effecting their Dimension or Shard even. Imo, another Shard civilization would be interesting but I hope they go the route that's more Mystical/Fantasy or even Sci-fi in nature. Similar to FFX's Dream of the Fayth being Zanarkand using Sin(Well more accurately Yu Yevon being what keeps Sin Rebirthing lol but ya'know what I mean) as a catalyst for that "never-ending" Summoning. That to me would be alot more interesting than it just being "Another Shard." But that doesn't mean I dislike the "Another Shard" idea, it would just feel like; imo, a bit too repetitive and takes away from the weight that brings with that portion of the Universe/Worldbuilding. Hopefully I worded that fairly or in a way it makes sense. I've yet to do Part 2 of 6.55(scrolled down when I noticed new cutscenes I've yet to witness lol) but I really enjoyed the thought process going on here in your video, and def gives me something to chew on. Thank you! Edit: There are some Bevelle Sigls or Yu Yevon symbols being shown in Solution 9 and The Arcadian Raid artwork, altho they are slightly altered or loosely look like it(Not just talking about what people are calling the Ultima Sigl, altho even that looks like one of the Yevon symbols with some alterations or combination with another Yevon symbol)....so my mind goes more towards X's A "Dream Digitalized" sorta idea. But another thing I'd love to add is I hope we see Ayzem(Azym? Ayzm? lol sorry spelling is rough) but as Comet(The Female Version of Meteor aka the posterboy in all the Cinematics for our WoL). That to me would be a really cool throwback!

Oh, what if FF14 wants to be like FFDissidiaOO where they add other Final Fantasy characters to talk with?... Kinda like in memory of Final Fantasy Dissidia Opera Omnia!... :D

Hells I'd straight up love a permanent crossover event with Dissidia (similar to the Monster Hunter one) in game. I'd love to talk to and do a gauntlet style solo instance duty fight against the others or something lol. Or help them something. Like shit let me even meet Cosmos and Materia both somehow lol.

With cosmic exploration, what if the post msq of dawntrail is meeting other kin of midgardsormer who escaped meteon, setting up a reuniting of the dragons for meracydia in 8.0

I was kinda disappointed how 6.55 wrapped up. Dawntrail haven't made me hyped like other expansions have. I hated how they ended Golbez ark. I'm playing FF11 on the side of 14 (for the past 1.5 decade) so the new alliance raid interest me a little bit. I will probably still pre order and and play it at launch but nothing makes me "omg omg" like Endwalker and Shadowbringer made me feel.

Would love to explore ilsabard too, it’s a massive part of the main 3 contents that we haven’t really seen. Love your idea though that we could be getting a war of the shards, great potential for a 10 year story
