A personal locator beacon is a life saver. I never go hiking without one. I wish more people would carry them.

I’ve been looking into one I just don’t know which route to go on brand. Is there one you recommend?

@@roamingthetrails I have a Garmin Inreach mini 2 but it is subscription based. I always have to remember to check it before I go hiking. I would recommend a non-subscription based PLB like the ACR ResQLink View. I may be purchasing one of these as a secondary.

Excellent review on stuff for a winter hike (something I try to avoid!) and surprised me with things I wouldn't have thought of, like the crampons.
