What an amazing kid... and What an amazing Mother, both have been through so much

All these my wishes have been great but this might be my favorite. Such a unique athlete to request to meet and they did an awesome job with the experience. What a great kid.

+maninthebox0 It's my favourite too...the kid is an original, wanting to meet a racehorse instead of a human athlete, but hey, why not, that's his hero

What a great mother, seriously when I saw her holding him I choked up. Patrick has a heart of gold which is something most people dont have. Patrick is the man

As much as I love horses I so feel for this young man. Patrick has good hands. He's got a feather-light touch with horses. I can see this just from this short video. He's an inspiration to me. You find a new love to move you forward. Bless.

All of these kids are my hero's. I feel honored to have been able to see into a small part of their lives. I feel honored to have seen their wishes come true amidst the battles they willingly fight every day of their lives. Signed, A US Army Airborne vet

It's awesome that he got his wish granted, and he truly did deserve it. I'm not saying the other kids don't deserve it. I get inspired by all these kids, and I think we can all learn a lesson from each and every one of them.

I spent my teenage years on a farm that raised race horses and this story really got to me. if you've never been around a horse then you've missed out on something really special we had 27 of them and I loved every single one of them.

I miss my horses ... I cry sometimes just thinking about riding because I haven't ridden in 10 years and it's such a distinct connection one gets with horses.. I love riding so much and I'm now looking to volunteer to rescue horses because it kills me to see such a beautiful majestic creatures being abused and neglected.

I must admit I miss my teenage years on on the farm we always had a lot of animals to take care of. but most of all I miss how save I felt living with my uncle.

Crying my eyes out as I watch this. What a beautiful moment, and beautiful young man. My god, is it such an amazing thing to see such a happy and giggling child, who has had SO many major obstacles. How awesome. To be honest, watching this also makes me ashamed of myself for whining and bellyaching over my stupid and smallish issues in life, when Ive been given so much. Ill try and do better about that, but in the meantime, I hope you are doing well Patrick and Susan. May god bless you wherever you are.

I wish I had found this one years ago. The condition Patrick has is called hydrocephalus which I also have. Being lazy with "water on the brain" is unfortunate. Shunt failure causing blindness is incredibly rare. Something more than just hydrocephalus might have been at play. Perhaps a stroke. I notice he is also hard of hearing. Hope he is doing well all these years later.

+Konor Anderson No, they shouldn't have, it's a nice idea, but a crazy one....putting a kid with his ailments on the back of a powerful Racehorse would be way too risky, even under close supervision...all it could take was something to spook Smarty and he could BOLT
