Have you tried EasyEffects for noise suppression? I use it (with some other filters) and it works really well. Just set your mic as its input and hook its output up to OBS or whatever. It has a ton of other stuff you can do with it too that can be fun to play with, especially when echoing my audio back to me (it can make me actually like the sound of my digitalized voice!). Imagine having Harmony and FlowerPot in your most used (at least I'm assuming that's what it is - I've never used vivaldi, and never will), but not Haphne and Honks. At least there's no Hinny I guess. Thalia > Annabeth. What's Josh/Donna from? Personally in Firefox I just make move tabs on other subjects into their own window, then set that workspace to be tabbed. Not as nice as what vivaldi seems to have though. 170 is indeed not a lot. I have over 2000 in multiple games, and 500+ in a lot more, over the last decade.

I'm always curious about your workflow as an editor, working with others. As an academic in the humanities, even though I like to write in something simple, all the editors and publishers I've worked with are geared up to work with Word files, so I have to use pandoc to make the conversion and then go through processes of editing and correction with them through Track Changes / comments on the Word doc. (And then usually final proofs on a PDF.) I would love to know more about how you go about moving text from Vim to collaborating with 'normies' in the process of editing...
@TheLinuxCast
@TheLinuxCast 11 ай бұрын
So, I'm a dumb person, and also obsessive about vim. So I take them out of Google Docs, which is where they are sent to me, open them in vim, edit there with all of my awesome keybindings, and then copy and paste into WordPress. Luckily, I don't have to track changes because they're not going back to the writers. I just make the changes and then publish. Unless something is horrendous, which does, happen. It's amazing how many freelancers think they can write and really know nothing about how to spell. Or spell check for that matter.

I remember March or so of last year you were using i3 and I first moved over to Linux. Shortly after I took the jump and tried out window managers. I stuck with Qtile and never looked back. I still love the curent flavor of Gnome (Cosmic) that Pop! ships. But when I use a wm, I stay with qtile. Trying out bspwm and just always go back to my fave. For some reason, I am too smooth brained to use qtile as a wayland compositor. For that I typically just use hyprland. I have been liking wezterm as my terminal of choice. Lunarvim is my editor of choice still. But if I make the move to NixOS, I can't use it and need to be a big boy and make my own config.

My journey was much more gradual - first mint with cinnamon, then manjaro with kde, then arch with xfce and i3, then gentoo with bspwm.. then void with wmutils and bash scripts, now I don't really care anymore, I lost interest in these things.

My workflow involves the use of Bottles. A flatpak that runs on my Debian 12 laptop. I do a bit of small time trading (fx, stock markets etc). This needs Windows software to run either Metatrader 4 or 5. Both run well under WINE. I used to do a full WINE install from the repository, but now I use Bottles. Lutris would probably work too. I can also play some retro Chris Sawyer games too like Locomotion (under Steam/Proton or Heroic. There is of course OpenTTD and OpenRCT that have native Linux versions. I also have Nix pickages installed. If I want to run openttd-jgrpp (a patched version of the game) I can just run it in a nix shell.
