To stop bolting u slightly turn into a spiral so when it is getting smaller they can't help but to stop
@AngelBelladonna9 жыл бұрын
Lps Flame Sounds so easy in theory. I've had green horses take off and you can try to turn them all you like but some will just keep going straight even if you turn their head. Admittedly these are horses that haven't had their power steering and breaks fully installed yet, but even on horses that have, bolting isn't as simple to stop as that. Yes that's what you aim for but it doesn't work for every horse every time. Sometimes the best option is to emergency dismount. Plus if a horse is bolting it can be very hard to control the angle of the turn, spiralling is extremely hard on an out of control horse. Often they turn too sharply at speed and this can unbalance them and they can fall (seen it happen again on a green horse).

Holy that was amazing! You clearly have some talent, but as for the horse he isn't "bad" or "naughty" as you said he didn't like his riding space, and it was new to him. Also I seen another comment that stated "horses don't buck for no reason" that can and can't be true. You really are the perfect example of how to evaluate episodes gone wrong and how to learn and grow from things not going as planned. You explain really reflectively and elaborate on what happened, how you felt and what you were thinking and then you explain what you got out of it in the end. If a fall ever is a good thing it would be if the rider is able to learn enough from it to cover the bruises all over the body. And you didn't do anything wrong. You reacted in the situation you were in and your pony was acting up and the final result of you both and the particular scene was a fall. Nothing more. You'll become a wonderful rider.

Here are some tips on how to stay on, my trainer told me when my horse bolted, heels down, don't use reigns for all your balance, grab main, run like you stole it until the horse calms down.Incase of bucking stay calm and lean the way your horse is going. Rearing, lean forward and wrap arms around horse neck ( English) (Western) Bucking grab horn of saddle and heels down, Rearing, grab horn and heals down, if rolling dismount horse fast

did you managed to understand what made him bolt for the flag line like that? I doubt just not liking the grass stadium could have been the reason. The fact that he stopped once you were off him says he wasn't spooked... just pissed about something. Or at least it feels so to me. But I'm not a rider, so I may be wrong. I have the weird feeling that he simply got feisty on you and wanted to take charge then snapped out of it once you fell. The clip doesn't show... did he turn back to you before you got up? It's good you learned from it and got him in the right mind set though. Bet it wasn't easy... he seems to be one very opinionated character ;)

Very good rider. Very fresh horse. That's where you want a nice one rein stop. I teach my horses something super early that most people think is crazy- I grab around their neck suddenly at the walk with my arms and dropped reins and when they stop, I give them a treat. Then to the trot another day. Then to the canter. Always a treat. Then maybe when they get this fresh, their empathy will kick in and they'll remember how to take care of you. I hope your trainer hopped on that pony. But you are a very good rider. That was a lot of bucking and really good staying tal and straight when she bolted. That's a big fun field for a horse to run in.
