I've never been a skater of any kind, i mean ive roller bladed donw the quads and such played on boards but something about these free skates are really really callig to me. But what actually brought me down here to leave a comment is, i havent even gotten a pair yet but these videos you guys are making makes me feel like i could be part of this community and even at 30 years old i can jump on these and not be mocked or anything. You guys seem chill as hell and i cant wait to get my first pair... and inevitable eat it on the pavement. But imma try damn it!

This type of video (story about wiping out, how you learned from it, what others can learn from it) is really informative and valuable. Got my JMK's 2 weeks ago and am trying to learn from others' slips and falls just as much as my own!

So glad you found it valuable!! Best of luck to you with your progress :)

I fell at least once a week every week for about 8 months, never a serious injury but a few scrapes, bruises, and wrist pain. I honestly think falling is a necessary part of the learning process so keep going. Also like in the video don't skate in the dark if possible, I made that mistake too and sent myself barreling down a large parking lot with no lightning before I properly knew how to carve. Luckily I bailed just in time and sprinted off the skates before it was too late. Polish your basics before trying downhills that are steeper then a slight roll.

Did the same thing, same kind of injury, also at night. Something about these crashes makes you slap your entire body straight into the street. Hurts like heck, but you're way less likely to break bones with the damage distributed evenly like that.

I had a similar thought - At the speed I was going, I probably shouldn't have walked away largely unscathed (a couple of wounds up the right side of my body, but nothing sprained or broken). I feel pretty lucky to have fallen the way I did!

Man. I have a few good fall stories. Luckily I've gotten smarter and learned where to put my weight and how to fall better. Once, I was skating with a buddy on some paths of a community college campus. It was my first time to skate there. I made a fatal mistake of looking far up the path where there was a patch of loose leaves. While I focused on that, I totally missed a bump or snag where I was, and had a fun wipeout to knock the air right out of me. Moral of the story. Keep eyes on the near field rather than focusing farther away.

Oof. Happens to the best of us! Unfortunately, the art of falling / staying safe comes with learned experience... Hoping to save some of those falls for others by sharing my own experiences!

If you need to skate at night holding your phone flashlight in front of you on max pointed at the ground in front of you might be just enough lightning to help, Ideally just don't skate when you can't see well but sometimes you just send it.

They also have really cheap headlamps you can charge with a USB. Free hands and safe vision. Best to turn them slightly to one side so you don't have to turn your head too much.

Sorry you fell gabe. I've fallen trying to learn my freeskates, and got scrapped up pretty bad. Hit the ground pretty hard too. Not fun. But it is part of learning.

I'm just learning right now, and yesterday I was practicing and took a fall. I've fallen before, and to make sure I don't develop any fear I've always gotten back up and have gotten some good runs in before stopping. The problem is this time, I actually got hurt. My knee on my back leg twisted and it hurts to straighten. And when I tried my method of getting back up and doing more, the pain kept me from having any good skates. I couldnt push off properly, couldnt balance well, and when I bailed the act of stepping off would hurt. So I guess my question is, how do I keep going? I don't want to make my injury worse, so I know I should take a break. But I'm scared that if I stop, I'll lose all my progress and develop a fear of crashing.

Do you think shark wheels would work well on freeskates for sidewalks or more rough paths?

Hello, i bought a pair of freeskates with edge guards from your Europe website. I wanted to ask what time does it take the package to arrive to Spain or when i track the package.

Well stakeboards don’t have a good way to safely fall because it always stays level but with free skates it looks like you can just lean back or let them fall behind you

Probably depends on the skater but I definitely love how easy it is to bail! I've never really skateboarded so I'll take your word for it 😄

Reminds of that time my roommate was free skating next to me - as I was biking his car tire+wheel to a repair shop on my ebike! Those pot holes are deadly!!! Even in daylight! 😱 He took it like a champ tho. He’s my inspiration in life

Gabe why don't you try a dual kickflip. I landed it only 2 times with luck I think you can get it consistently.
